Hi there!

I'm Kate, a 21 year old Geography student from England. I've always struggled with my weight since I was a teenager. Like most people i've done various diets and detox's, none of them have suited me and i've fallen off the wagon pretty swiftly! So it's time for a life change.

I currently weigh 207 pounds, my lightest weight was 3 years ago at 177 pounds. I'm never going to be an uber skinny minnie, its not in my genes or bone structure, but i'd like to get down to 168 ish. I'm not sure if that's an appropriate weight for my height (5ft 8)? I've also attached some photo's to show how I used to look and my current shape.View attachment 15184

I'm not really sure how to start, but i've done a weekly meal plan and am planning on walking and cycling a lot more - does anyone have any suggestions for a newbie? :)


I hope I can meet new people through this, share hints and tips and finally kick the uni lifestyle!

I'm at Uni in England too :) Graduating this yearrrr! I started off at 210 so around the same as you! I found walking got my first 10lbs off pretty quickly, I usually did at least a few miles a day on top of what I usually did.

Also, you don't look your weight at all!

I'd start a diary in the diary section of the forum--All us cool kids hang out there ;) xx
 
Ooh, how are you finding your final year? What are you studying? I have two weeks left till my last hand in, it's come around so fast! eek!

Thanks for replying :) I think i'm gonna start with walking and build it up, perhaps a 2-3mile walk a day on top of the usual darting around. What did you do after the first 10lbs to shake some more off?

Thanks for the lovely comment! Like most girls i'm very paranoid about lumps and bumps so it's nice to hear someone say that, just need to get healthier now!

The diary thing is a fab idea, I think I might start one tomorrow; I'm actually pretty excited about starting this healthier lifestyle now :) xx
 
Yeah, it's going okay. Finish on the 20th so lots of final essays to be writing!!

After my first 10lbs I joined a gym! And went there like 3-4 times a week which was very helpful! Could you join a gym?
