My name is Jodi and I have been doing cardio 5-7 days a week since January. I have lost 20lbs with lots more to go. I would like to start lifting weights at the gym I belong to. A personal trainer is not in the budget for me and I just don't know where to start. I don't know which machines to use, how often, etc. Everything I read online says something different. I was hoping this site might help me find some good information on some type of weight lifting routine. It is overwhelming and so I just been avoiding it.

I am back on the wagon after a few years hiatus from the gym! When I started my jouney I was at 257 and got down to 117 in a year and a half. At the time I was fortunate enough to afford a gym membership. The one I attended (24hr Fitness) had a circuit training area with step by step instructions of what to do. Do you by any chance have something like that at your gym? Another option might be to ask others that are working out what THEY do! I'm guilty of doing that a few times. :) I did a lot of google research and found many awesome exercises and helpful hints as well. I wish I would have found this forum at the time though! I am now at 152 and am not able to afford a gym membership at the time so I am sticking to working out at home with old videos I have. Looking forward to saving up some cash and getting back to the gym one day!
