Hey thurrr. I'm new here. : )

I came here, in hopes of finding some buddies to help me with my weight loss.
I'm in desperate need to lose weight and prove to everyone that I'm not just the fat girl. : /
I've tried dieting many times before, but I've never succeeded.
The only time I've ever lost weight was without even exercising, over a period of a year; I lost 20 pounds. Unfortunately, I became too comfortable with myself and began thinking I could eat whatever I want. I gained it all back. : /
As of right now, I weigh 167 pounds.
I'd love to lose about 50 pounds pounds in two months, and to get down to around 115.
Seems like a pretty good goal, eh?
I also think it's pretty realistic.
I'd like to add that I'm not just doing this to look good and feel good about myself physically. I'm also doing this for my health. I've gotten rid of all the negativity in my life (except the fifty pounds, of course) and I'm in a very good place right now. I'm confident it will keep going this way, and I want to be around for as long as possible and enjoy it.

I really hope someone will be nice enough to help. : )

And thank you for taking the time to read this. : )

I've lost about 40lbs in two months before by losing about 5lbs a week.

I did this a healthy way by consuming enough calories in a day to not be starvation and doing an hour of exercise every day with weight lifting but to get it to 50lbs I'd think you'd almost have to starve at least two weeks to get to the 50lbs goal.

Hey though good luck on it.

If you want it bad enough you can do anything.

Hi welcome aboard!!

CC..your probably a man, right? most woman could not loose 5 pds a week consistantly. Not saying its not humanly possible..i've just never heard of it.

The most safe and realistic weight loss is 1-2 pds a week. I know its disapointing but that loss is one that you can make smaller more permanant changes then go on a crash diet and end up gaining the weight back later.

Either way....you can do anything you put your mind to...go for it!

I'll second that! I lost 5 pounds a week before, the WRONG way...starvation. After I lost about 30 pounds and was confortable again, I started snacking here and there and back to my old self I was. Just like that. Depressing, but true so here I am again starting over...the right way.

Hello, welcome to the site.
This is just my opinion but 5 lb loss in a week is just not healthy I did one of those crash diets a couple of years back where I lost 20 lbs in a very short period of time and had all kinds of side effects: headache, bad mood swings, messed up my cycle...etc.
And I gained the weight back faster and some on top of that. Now I am very happy with the 2 lbs/ week loss and even with the plateaus along the way it is constant downward( slow for me too :) )movement of the scale.
This is just my two cents.
Good luck on your journey, you will find great support here!!!
PS: your starting weight is the weight I am at now!!!

Are you trying to lose 50 pounds in 2 months because you have something to attend in 2 months that you want to look good for? I was just curious about the 2 months deadline since its seems so soon, but I can totally understand wanting to get the weight off as quickly as possible...:)

I think its great that you have set a goal for yourself. Good Luck! :)

I've thought about it a lot. And maybe 2 months is too soon. : /

I think a more realistic date would be December 25, 2007. Christmas.
That gives me about.. five months?
Losing 10 pounds a month would be realistic, correct?

Oh, yes, that is absolutely realistic and now you have the same time frame and starting weight than I am !! Have you started a diary?

You don't have to start one. It is up to you.
It is like a motivation tool that keeps us accountable. [It is a great way to give and receive support along the way. You can start by listing what you eat, what type exercise you will do...etc. most of us had to make changes to our starting eating/exercising habits to be able to lose weight.
I just started one because I found myself falling off the wagon in May and I think this will help me stay on the right path, but everybody is different.
Hope this helps.
Good luck with your journey!!
