Get back on the wagon missy!!!

Hi Dee,

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble. The hardest part about falling off the wagon is getting back on. But it is possible, and once you're on you should be right!

Have a think back to when you first decided to start Cohen's and the frame of mind you were in. Try to recreate those thoughts and see if they help motivate you again. What prompted you to decide that this was the plan for you?

Once you've got your mindset straight on why you want to do this, have a think about tomorrow and what you need to do to get your food organised/planned so that you don't have any excuses to slip up. Maybe get your fruit cut up, your water bottles filled, vegies chopped, meat weighed all ready to go. If you can, get all the non-cohen's food and put it out of sight (or at least out of easy reach).

Make yourself some little reminder notes about why you're doing this and stick them to the fridge door/pantry etc.

Have a think about what has been causing you to deviate. Is it boredom? Stress? etc. Plan some actions to take tomorrow if these things come up so that you can react in a way that doesn't involve food.

Remember, life happens 1 second at a time. Don't worry about whether you can be good for the next week. Just concentrate on being good in the moment you are in. Before you know it all those moments of being good will add up to a week, then another and another and soon after that you'll be ordering refeed.

You can do it. You know you can - if you thought otherwise I doubt you would have forked out the $$ for the program in the first place. So pick yourself up, climb on board the wagon and enjoy the ride to Thinville!

If you want to chat at all, just PM me.
Cheers,
Linda

Hello dee

I agree with Linda, you need to start right now, tomorrow is too late. Start right away eat the correct dinner and crackers/fruit. No more non cohens food.
I should be finished bynow but cause of all my deviating I have two extra months to go, how annoying is that. how many more months do you want to add to your programme, none is that what I hear. well start right now.

It does get easier, i have been deviation free now for 1 week and I feel as though i'm well and truley back on track.

So keep reading the posts, get in the chat room when ever you feel like you going to deviate, drink a bottle of water before eating anything and see if that fills you up a little and that may stop you from deviating.

Freeze some diet soft drink then blitz it in the food processor and make yourself a diet sorbet..... Delisious and makes you feel like your having a real non diet treat..
take care
Dianne

oh oh! I thought of another tip. If you think you really need to eat something naughty, go and brush your teeth first. The minty taste of the toothpaste usually makes the thought of any other food less enticing.

thankyou!!!

Thankyou for your your reply!!! im going to be strong and start tommorrow!!:) My problem is not eaten,i forget to eat!!! i just get to involved in everything else!!So i will do the cutting up of the vegies and weighing my food the day before:) as you suggested it's so hard when you have a toddler and a 16month old and a 11 year old i have 15 kilos to lose so i know i can do it
Thankyou Again
Dee:) :) :)

Falling off the wagon

Thanks guy's im glad i decided to go on this forum you guy's are great!!!!

Hi frenchfrog67:D

Linda and Di have given you some sound advice. I personally have not fallen off the wagon on THIS programme but I have on many others and yes it is difficult to dust yourself off and jump back on.

Try and get mentally prepared, you obviously were in the first 4 weeks before you went away. If you have no other events of holidays planned to interrupt your plan then try and visualise how you felt in those first 4 weeks and see if you can get yourself back there.

Reading this forum has helped me the most to keep the focus away from niggling hunger pang's. Especially in those early weeks. IT also has a cathartic affect on me - it actually realaxes me and switches my mind away from thoughts of food.

My advice would be to read your plan back to front and absorb all that knowledge and then start. Plan all your meals and try to make them interesting so you don't feel like deviating. A couple of my favourite meals is steak with sauteed mushrooms & spinach or Grilled mozarella over tomato, onion, garlic, (any allowable veg) on a crispbread. It is yumm!!!!!:p
Experiment a bit and go to recipe thread here for ideas.

I would also continue to hound your clinic till they make contact with you.

Hope this helps all the best.:D

well they finally got back to me!!!!!yah....they where very sorry and my time runs out on the 21 st of march so i better get that weight off

Hi Frenchfrog:)

Great news about your clinic keep on top of them. 21st of March you had better get cracking. I just looked at you ticker and I started at 79Kg as well and I would also like to be at 60/63kg. I've lost over 10kg in 8 weeks and am nearly at refeed but i would like to lose more and get to that 60/63 mark.

But I feel I must be close to refeed because I am beginning to get the hunger pangs all of a sudden.

Hope all goes well not sure about coffee I've never been a coffee drinker but I'm sure it mentions something about limiting your caffeine intake per day in your plan.

Take care
Sam:)

Hi Sam,
I would strongly encourage you to keep going till you are really happy with your weight. I had a cohens goal weight of 59 - 62. Originally I thought I would be happy with 64 and I was incredibly hungry for a few days when I was at about 65kg, but I decided to wait a little while and the hunger went away. It didn't come back until I actually started the refeed. About day 2 or 3 I was tempted to eat my kids (and they are quite large - 15y.o and 11 y.o). The refeed was by far the hardest part of the program for me. It is really complicated and you only want to do it once. What's a few more days of Cohen's meals compared to the disappointment of not quite reaching your goal? I actually hit a plateau at 64Kg that lasted nearly 2 weeks so it wasn't easy to keep going, but I'm so glad I did. I was inspired by Chelsea who gave invaluable advise.

refeed question answered finally

Thank you so much Waterlilly:D

I have been asking this question a few times so now I know.
I remember Cheslea writing about this issue but I needed confirmation and you have just given it to me.
I was very worried about the hunger and I would prefer to be at that 60/63kg rage before starting refeed or maybe 64 (this can be consfusing) before I start my consultant said you do lose weight on refeed was that the case with you?

When should you ideally start refeed when you are 2 or 3 kg away from your ideal weight mine being 60kg?

Look forward to hearing back from you.:)

And well done Frenchfrog.:D

i need help on a tasty breakfast

Hi Was Just Wondering If Anyone Out There Can Give Me A Recipe For A Nice Breakfast I Cant Stand To Eat Yohgurt First Thing So Im Pretty Much Left With Egg Or Cheese:( :(

Dee:) :)

Hi frenchfrog:)

You can make up an omelette with allowable veg I do tomato, onion & mushroom with dried herbs and ground sat & pepper. Spray a non stick pan and fry.

With the cheese you can fry up some veg from your list I like the tomato, spinach, mushroom fresh herbs etc then place veg under a grill with cheese and grill till melted and bubbling. I usually only do the egg thing on the weekends but others have cooked it the night before and heated in the microwave the next day.

I have to admit I stick with the yoghurt in the mornings I love yoghurt anyway so I just add fruit or do smoothies to make it interesting.
With the yoghurt have you tried wizzing fresh fruit through it like mango or peaches etc you can do this if you have a bamix mixer.

Hope enjoy these.
Sam:)

I have been making boiled curried egg and mashing the veges in - doesn't look great but is yummy.............

Hi Frenchfrog67, we can only have feta once a week because of it's high salt content.
I hope that helps:)
