Hey, my name is Vicky, and I currently weigh in at around 18 and half to 19 stone - I know, gross right?

What's even more gross is my age. I'm only 15, and I've let myself get so big, however I'm not short - I'm 5"10-11, so at least that makes it up a bit.

However, I'm getting to an age where really, I need to be happy if I want to have the best life as possible. And I'm not happy being big.

I have Asperger's (only mildly though) but that's enough to make me depressed (of which I've been for a long time, and it's made me eat because of my emotions) and it made me leave school at the beginning of Year 9.

Next year, I'm hoping to start 6th Form college, and I want to lose a couple of dress sizes in the next few (5 :p) months and carry on until my desired weight.

I'm planning on joining a women's gym after my 16th birthday (so, 2 and a half months) and I want to try and start taking hoodia tablets (anyone had any success with them?).

I've had some success in recent weeks, but I've started slipping back because of exam stress.

I want to lose weight as successfully and as quickly as I can.

So...that's it. :D.

There are many people who join here everyday. Sometimes its difficult to make sure you responded to all of them. Anyway, welcome to the board. Joining a gym is a great step but you don't have to wait until then to get some exercise. You can also look at your diet and see how you could make healthy changes. Take a look around the stickied threads and you will find a lot of information. I would not recommend you take hoodia. Most of these "diet pills" are just gimmicks to get your money. Educating yourself and working hard will get you the results you really want.

RR: IMHO, You're a bit young to start taking unperscribed supplements/medication designed for weightloss. Try starting with Diet Modification and Exercise. Any way you look at it, you probably dont wanna loose more than 2lbs a week (after the initial water-weight goes away). Besides, most of those over the counter pills just throw any caloric intake calculations out of whack anyway.

Spend some time and read the stickies, and search the forums for info about "BMR", "Caloric Deficit" and the like. A few days of reading the popular threads will give you a much better idea of how to start a healthy lifestyle that _will_ eventually lead to weightloss.

However, I'm inclined to stress that due to your age you should consult a doctor before beginning any diet or exercise program.

You'll find lots of support and great ideas from other people on similar journey's.
Welcome to the forum!

Welcome! I agree with Jonny...definitely talk to a doctor before you join a gym and start working out. Pass on the hoodia tablets and all the other gimmicks. The way to lose weight is hard work, disciplined eating and motivation
