I've always been what I thought was an average weight, 137 lbs at 5'4." Well that was four years ago. I've ballooned up to about 185 lbs, I think. I'm afraid to step on the scale. I am not one of those people who have tried everything. What I have tried has work. I've not either the motivation or dedication to stick with any of it. I don't know what it's going to take. I just want to be at a healthy weight. I want to run again, which I use to hate doing. I want to look in the mirror again without looking away. I don't want to be obsessed with the scale anymore. This is my first time joining a forum like this. Hope to meet many longtime friends along the way. I don't know when I am going to start my journey to a healthier more secure me but hopefully something will click in me that lets me know it's time.

Welcome to the forum. You said you have no motivation to stick with weight loss, you will probably become motivated if you stay will something long enough to see results. Once you see what you can achieve, you will gain confidence and believe in your ability to accomplish your goals. You should try setting smaller goals instead of one big weight loss goal.

Hi Brandie! Welcome to the forum! First off, it's going to take dedication even when you lack the motivation! I think the first 2-3 weeks of a healthier lifestyle (i.e. eating right and exercising) are the hardest. If you can be consistant through those first few weeks, it get's easier because you actuallyl start to crave healthier foods vs. bad ones and you're starting to see and feel results so the exercise become more bareable. Start a diary here and post about your diet, exercise, goals, successes and failures... it will help for sure! Again welcome! :seeya:
