Here we go

Hi all, I'm new to the forums,. but not new to fitness I suppose. I've done a lot of reading and researching throughout the past months, and well, it's all confusing  My story:
Gained a lot of weight after college. A lot. summer 2008. 340 lbs, 52-54" waist, who knows on my body fat %. Decided it was time for a change around August, got myself a personal trainer, and started to go to town! However, the personal trainer turned me right off exercise and going to that particular gym period :(
Fast forward to January, I decided to give it another go. Hired a different p.t. to point me in the right direction. Worked with him for about 2 months and realized he wasn't really doing anything, so I ventured off onto my own with the power of the internets! Currently I'm hovering around 250 lbs, 39" waist, 27% body fat, and feeling/looking a whole lot better.

Now I'm looking to figure out how to take it to the next level. The end goal is to be ~ 190lbs (I'm 5'10 ish), around 15% bf, and have more muscle. Right now I'm just a smaller version of what I use to be @ 340 lbs, so I need to "re-sculpt" my body is the best way I can put it? I tried p90x for 7 weeks now, and it doesn't seem to be the thing for me. So off to figure out what to do next! If you have any suggestions, hit me up! Budgets tight, so no room for another p.t.

Well you are doing something right.

But you have given up on two trainers and the P90X. I really don’t want to help in fear of being ditched..lol

Just kidding you seem to be doing great. Keep learning and find something you enjoy to do for fitness. This sight has some great info so good luck. Read some stickies.

oh and you are right, trainers don't doooo anything! It's all you baby!!

p90x is a good system, I just couldn't "physically" do some of the exercises, as well as it was hard to tell if I was doing a lot of them correctly. I would often not feel any burn during some of the exercises, just hinting to me that I wasn't doing them right.
