Here I am! Rock you like a Hurricane (hehe)

Hi Melissa :)

I don't know about you, but I think you were handed some very thorough advice yesterday. That could be reason enough to log in, no?

Now journaling everything you do and eat... I sort of fell off that wagon myself around here. I very rarely update my journal compared to how I used to be.

haha... i stand corrected. I didnt mean log on entirely... but this journaling buisness.... may be for the birds! :)

thanks steve :)

Haha.... ohhhh. Well in that case, I feel ya. It's not for everyone. It certainly helps some in terms of accountability and the like.

Me though... I have 100 and some thousand views hardly anyone comments in my journal. Figure there's not point and updating it frequently. That's not why I'm here anyhow.

I'll swing by yours more often though, if that means anything.

That's a great time for your 5k - and a new personal best! Hooray!

And congratulations on coming in 2nd in your category. That's awesome!

I know how you feel about the 3 lbs. I get that way when I have a reversal like that.

Love the photos - you look fantastic.

heyy there! i just had to tell you that your diary was so fun to read through and you are so motivational with all the progress you've made! congrats and good luck on those last few pounds! you look awesome! :)

I hope you keep posting in your journal. I read it everyday...I just don't post much. I relate to your diet and workout a lot as I feel we eat pretty similar and I see you making progress....me, not so much.

Melissa, congrats on the new best! That's moving! Looking good as usual but I think I see some pretty nice leg muscle definition in one of those photos of you running. You have done a great job and I think you are officially an athlete now. Sorry I haven't been here much lately. Going through some stressfull times but I'll be back in full swing by December. You have been a great source of motivation for me and many others on here. I'd hate to see you stop posting entirely.

Happy Monday!

Thanks to all of you who posted in my journal lately. It really means a lot to have so much support. Sometimes it seems like you post for yourself… but I have also been bad at getting out there and posting in journals.
Things have been good here lately. I have been keeping up with going to the gym and eating well. Last I weighed in I am back down to my 125.4 so that is exciting. I bought myself a new protein powder supplement that has 52g of protein in it. Its low glycemic and low carb so that is pretty awesome. Doesn’t taste terrible either. This morning I had one egg and water with two scoops of that powder in it. I was pretty full up until lunch time. I had homemade chicken corn soup then for lunch and I just had an apple with peanut butter on it.

I am planning to head out to the gym here within 30 minutes so that will be a good time as always… I really enjoy my gym time… its ME TIME… and I really enjoy that. I have been trying to be sure I am keeping my heart rate up high enough during my cardio… and I am increasing reps in my weight training… rather than just weight… so we will see how that goes!

Last night I spent some time before bed trying to relax myself. My boyfriend was getting a shower and I was ready for bed so I decided to do some stretching since my muscles were tight. I also attempted some meditation. I am not sure if I did it right… but I focused on calming things and things that I really enjoy that are relaxing. I did some deep breathing and I actually felt incredible. I really didn’t think id be able to relax and block everything around me out for any amount of time… but I did and it was great!

Well I am off to finish my last half hour of work, and then off to the gym. I will talk to you all again soon!

52 grams of protein! Wow, what powder did you get? Typically they range from the high 20s to the low 30s in terms of grams of protein per serving.

Also, how many cals per serving.

Nice how protein tends to promote satiety, isn't it?

Steve:
Here is the kind i got... but in chocolate. Mine is strawberry... not that it matters hehe. Mine is 240 cals for two full scoops and 52g protein.

i put it in water..... does this look sufficient? i do not know much about this stuff...
( they sell it at walmart... called body fortress)

Happy Friday whoot whoot :)

Things have been going alright the last few days… been super busy and unmotivated to write my whole life down on here so ive been absent for a bit … sorry guys! Been keeping active with my working out and eating well…. Have not been losing weight still and I am trying to figure out why. I guess I need to really just take my calories way down… or just try to burn more at the gym than I have been. I recently added an extra 15 minutes of cardio to my routine so I am doing 45 minutes rather than 30 minutes. I am also cutting calories back a bit … so we will see how that goes.

I am nervous today and have race jitters because tomorrow morning I have a 5K. I am pretty excited for it because it is definetly for a great cause, and also because there are over 400 runners!!!! There were only 140-150 the last two I did so this is MUCH bigger!!! I am very excited though!

Good luck on the 5K tomorrow! Let's see you break your record again... you can do it!!! :)

Keep up the amazing work... it's good to see that you're not letting the fact that your weight isn't dropping discourage you... way to keep up staying HEALTHY and FIT!!! :)

Melissa, sorry to keep using my wife as an example but you both weigh about the same weight and are probably very close in body fat percentage also. When she got down to the low 130's, it took her almost 18 months to lose another 10 lbs. Granted, she has never worked out as intense as you do but I really think when you reach an ideal and athletic weight and body fat level, the fat just comes off so slow. Or another way of saying it is when you get to that point, it probably means you are at an athletic weight and body fat range. It might be a slow transformation from here on out but if you keep doing what you are doing, I guarantee you your body fat composition will continue to change for the better. Just think about those lean leg muscles you have now. ;) Now picture them after another 6 months of sticking with your eating and workout habits. :)

I know it sucks when progress seems to crawl but I really think you are doing the right things. Just keep making your workouts challenging yet fun. Keep improving on that 5K time too. You're cruzing now!

Woop Woop!!!...I am excited for you and you race!!...I'd be nervous too, if I was thinking of "placing" in the race,...which I'm sure you are cause "recognition" does get addicting!...Either way,...YOU CAN DO IT!!!..I already see you placing...and all those other runners, turning out to be Men & not in your category, so you have less competition...and you STILL PLACE ;)!!!....You got this!!! :D!!!

...As for losing weight, your body is transforming, and I'm sure those little glitches to your workouts are going to push you there. Maybe like Derrick said, a little slower, ...but YOU WILL GET THERE! :iagree:...Also, your legs are transforming like crazy....GOOD LUCK AGAIN, BONITA!!!

thank you all for the well wishes! I am headed off to the race... it starts in about 45 minutes! Wish mew luck... its raining, chilly, and gross out!!!

AND- all 3 of my racing buddies are eiether sick or out of town... so i am flying solo today! That means most likely i wont have any pics for ya!

ill check in after wards.... i am so freakin nervous... 500 people approx are expected to show... maybe some will not no wbc of the rain :)
