Here comes the bride....

Well here we go!
My name is Lalla...thought I'd start this diary to monitor my progress but also to rant when I wanna!I hope it may inspire others too and feel free to offer tips and advice okay.....it'll be welcomed!I love exercise ...but also food!

I've often looked for quick fixes(and realised there are none) or miracle pills(there are some but they are not good for you and are expensive!)
I'm a typical serial dieter...have been slim...10stone..looked like a lollipop head.And I've been 15stone...looked like the back end of a bus!
But I know that 11stone is my optimum so I 'm not stopping till I get there!!

I think motivation is the key in any case.I am getting married to the most gorgeous and lovely man in April 2010.We were due to get married on 19th Dec but I broke my ankle last week so we postponed. I am kinda glad really...I know I still woulda looked nice but I wanna look great on my wedding day.And I will!

So here's what I'm doing while I'm stuck at home off work....
Stretches and upper body free weights workout and ab work...1 hour a day.
I'm a member of a gym and have been for 15 years on and off so I'm confident with what to do and what gets results. I have plenty of time on my hands as I'm off for 7 weeks!When the caste is off in 5 weeks I will swim for 30 mins a day. Non weight bearing and burns calories fast. I used to run alot but think I will give high impact a rest...no good for the joints!

And the food thing...well I'm doing the South Beach Diet as it seems to encompass all the things that have worked in the past for me.
It's got a sensible approach...cut out sugar.Eat lots of fruit and veggies. Lean meat and fish...low but good fats.Nuts and seeds.I can eat every 2-3 hours...woohoo!It's not faddy and the book has some great recipes in.

Basically all diets work...you just have to find one you can stick to that can be maintained with food that you enjoy!Portion control too.And drinking lots of water.Simple really!
 
Breakfast at 9am
Cup of green tea
2 poached eggs on slice wholegrain toast
Glass of water.

I feel quite good today...it's sunny outside and wish I could go for a walk but these crutches kill my hands! But I do hop everywhere in the house so that's gotta burn a few calories right?!I'm gonna do my exercises now.
I found a link on here and thought I'd try stuff military style!
I want some lovely defined arms for my wedding dress...so I'm sure this will help.
I'm also going to do my body measurements as I know the last time I did this it really helped cos when I wasn't losing weight I found I'd lost inces so this motivated me to carry on.

mid morning snack at 11am
Cup of green tea
2 kiwis and small carton yoghurt

20 mins crunches and abs ...20 reps of each.Wow my stomach feels taut!lol.


If I do these everyday I'll have a 6 pack.well maybe 4 pack.I used to have one a few years ago...and yes I used to do 250 crunches to get it!

Lunch at 1pm
Big bowl of homemade veg soup...celery,onion,leek and tin of tomatoes and stock simmered for an hour.
Can of tuna stirred in.I need my protein!
Big glass of water.

I'm gonna do the shoulder workout in about an hour.
Right gotta go call the school...my daughter is being bullied so I 'm gonna get her moved to another form where she has friends.Teenage girls can be so mean!She's gong to learn boxing to build her confidence.And so she can kick some ass if she ever needs to defend herself.One of the girls is a tough nut.

Okay I had another bowl of soup in the afternoon....wasn't really hungry. My biggest prob is I just love the taste of food!I actually think I'm addicted.In fact I know I am!I do think about it alot and when I'm eating lunch I'm planning what to eat fo dinner!
Then I had some seeds and an orange and a cuo of green tea.

Sorted out the school thing which is a relief...she's going to change forms.I have been a bit worried about her as she's quite sensitive but I know it's just a girl thing.At least she doesn't binge eat which is what I did as a teenager.Not massively but I definately turned to food when I was stressed out and that has carried on for years.
I'm not so bad now but still eat rubbish when I have a bad day at work!

Anyway gotta go food shopping with my hubby-to-be.Need to get stocked up...we eat really healthy but he has a big appetite but exercises regularly so keeps it off.
He's also a fireman so that keeps him fit!

Dinner will be grilled lamb chops and lots of veggies.And maybe a glass of wine or two?!Its the weekend isn't it!I don't drink much ...maybe glass or 2 a week...if that!
I really wany some chocolate so may have half a small bar of dark..they say it's good for you!I will just make sure he keeps an eye on me cos I know I would eat the full bar left to my own devices!lol.
 
Hi there! Wow we can support each other! I am getting married too... I'm from NZ and need to lose 25 kgs = around 55 lbs!
