help?

Hiii.

So, I need tips. I'm 19, 5'6, and 245lbs. I am so sick of being the "fat" friend. ick. So, I've recently joined a gym, and I guess I just need help on a routine. Cardio, Lifting, both?...I honestly let myself go after my sophomore year of high school when gym was not a required class anymore. and I feel so stupid for doing that. Well, 2009 is going to be the year! with your help and encouragement and everything. I've seen transformations on here and seriously, it's amazing. I hope to be able to post my pictures on here one day of all the things I've accomplished. Anyways, any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
welcome to the forum. my first sugestion would be to read all the sticky posts as they will answer the majority of your questions. my second sugestion is to start a diary for self motivation and a place where other members can comment give motivation, tips and support along with the occasional kick in the butt when you get of track :)
