Well... i sort of want to get into an exercise program. Which mostly includes using my treadmill.
But... after a night of walking around and being on my feet, I don't want to work out. I'm fine with that. I burned calories at work, I sweat..... I drink water.... I know it was a good day.
But sometimes..... sometimes a for whole week, sometimes only 1 out of 5 days, I sit at work. This really fluctuates a lot.
Here's my problem. :banghead:
I never know what I'm going to be doing the next day.
I'm 290 lbs., so my hips and knees are usually sore after a hard day at work, so a workout is the last thing I want.
Even after a full day of sitting, I don't know what tomorrow will bring, so I can't bring myself to workout because I don't want to have any more pain, and I REALLY don't want to damage my muscles/ligament/tissue.. whatever so I am not able to work.
So.... I don't know what to do, other that restrict my workouts to the weekends.
I need advise. please help.

Hmm, being sore and threatening your ligaments / joints with damage is two very different things. Now, if you experience pain, and not soreness, in your joints after exercise then you should talk to a doc. Being sore is just... the price of starting out with exercising. I think anyone that starts doing something new that involved pounding their muscles somehow, will be sore, even super athletic folk.

I realize that there is a lot of talk about damaging your joints and ligaments and, obviously, fear of it. But unless you are doing something really wrong like jump rope barefooted on concrete then you will be warned before you get actual injuries. By far most injuries are caused by either people ignoring warning signs, like pain, and people like.. falling over or having SUPER over developed quads and pulling a hamstring and shit like that (which won't happen to you, I promise).

I'd say go for it, whenever your day has been all sitting, work them legs! and if you start to feel pain in your joints, or shins. Shin splints can be a bitch if you ignore them, then see a doctor and stop doing what you're doing till you've seen the doc. Soreness (for the first week or so) is just your body going "wtf... I am NOT used to all this work, I am PROTESTING LOUDLY!"

When I started my current lifting program I could barely walk for the first week, now I feel no soreness besides like, a good feeling that is more "i used my body today". (And I mean REALLY barely walk, I looked like someone who had ridden a horse for the first time and had been spanked for several hours afterwards).

I was thinking about this. And I think I'll start doing 15 mins daily, regardless. Even after a full day of walking around 15 mins isn't going to hurt anything and will probably help loosen up my muscles.
