help with cutting down on food

I'm a 16 year old male, and for ages now I've been eating lots and lots of food. I think I'm one of those people who can seemingly eat whatever they want and just not show it in their appearance. The thing is I'm getting a bit worried about this, I'm thinking that I'd better start cutting down on the amount of food I'm eating because I fear that as I get older I'll start to show it more, and I will begin to feel the damage that all my eating has done earlier on in life.

Is it true that if you gorge on food as a kid you will pay the price later in life?

I believe it's called having a faster metabolism than normal. When other people my age are full from eating, I can just continue for ages before being full. I'm not joking, it really does take a lot to fill me up.

What I want to know is is it wise to start cutting down on my eating at my age? Or will it start to interfere with growth?
I'm aiming for a 6-pack and have started cardio, weights, and healthier eating...but it still doesn't change my huge appetite.

Should I carry on eating until I'm full (of healthy stuff), or try and eat normal sized portions?
If I cut down to normal sized portions and go around feeling really hungry, will my hunger eventually go away and be satisfied with the smaller portions?

I also noticed that whenever I do get full from eating, it's not very long before I'm hungry again. This means I spend most of my day feeling hungry. What should I do?

a clean diet is key if you want abs, "abs are made in the kitchen" as spock always says, and its very true, also cardio.

Pay more attention to -what- you eat, not how much of it... if you're eating along healthy guidelines and exercise regularly, your appetite will basically auto-regulate - if your metabolism starts slowing, you'll most likely begin to notice that you get full more easily.

The key here is just making sure you eat food that fills you up (ie takes awhile to digest). white bread, pasta here are things to avoid - they have been processed so thoroughly that your stomach goes through them like a cuisinart, and can even make you -hungrier- instead of more full. lean meat is generally pretty good to fill you up, along with anything containing lots of fiber. for the most part, staying away from processed white flour is a great way to prepare yourself should your metabolism ever start slowing down :)
hope this helps.

any thing processed (to a point) isnt good for you, like jsg52 said, your body goes through them so fast and cause they have calories but are totally void of nutrients, they are just empty calories and get stored as fast faster than almost any other thing.

so what you guys are basically saying is I should eat until I'm full, but only food that is likely to fill me up properly and is healthy?

eg. if i'm not full after a meal, eat grapes and bananas until I am?

Is breakfast cereal alright to fill myself up on at any time of the day?

Green tea is a good hunger represser, but it also speeds up metabolism.

I'm a little skeptical on this, from my understanding there is no food that can speed up metabolism but it can only be achieved through patterns of workout and eating.

I think you should eat until you are full, but like previously mentioned, only on nutritious, clean foods. That means oatmeal (NOT in the packets - they're full of sugar), fruits & veggies, chicken and lean beef (top round is the leanest), egg whites, natural PB, 100% whole wheat bread, etc. You should have a serving of protein w/ every meal - either meat, egg whites, cottage cheese, or protein powder.

About the cereal - it depends. Oatmeal, yes - I eat 2 bowls a day. Other cereals that are good are Kashi, Grape Nuts (NOT the flakes), plain Shredded Wheat - you can sweeten them up w/ berries and bananas and Splenda, etc.

If you are aiming for a six-pack, it's going to come down to a clean diet - so avoid all processed foods and sugar-laden cereals. Just because you don't gain weight easily doesn't mean you can eat whatever you want. It's very important to still eat healthy.

it depends on what you mean by full, full like you cant eat any more, or full like you feel satisfied, i go until im satisfied not great to help untill your super full.

I meant eat until satisfied, super-full would be way too expensive to support if I did it every day ;)

protein with every meal sounds easy enough. I'm considering getting an eating plan, so should I follow the plan but start eating some of the previously mentioned things to get myself full after the meals?

Im just like you were I can eat 50 oz steak without a second thought, and still guzzle down a 1/4 gallon of milk then still wonder if im gana eat 3-4 potatos after that. for me it's an option though, what helps me fill up through the day if im going hiking or whatever, try casein powder. and everything else looks very much covered.
