Firstly, have you seen a physiotherapist to make sure there are no other problems with your knee ? if so did they give you any rehab exercises ? teach you haw to strap for the condition before playing sport ?

also how old are you, most people do grow out of this condition.

If you have not seen a physio it is important to strap (tape) the area, and it is better if somebody else does it as applying tape to yourself is hard to get right. A physio, experienced sports trainer (athletics trainer in the US) or someone with specific strapping qualifications can do it and show you haw it is done. After any exercise it is also very important to ice the knee to reduce the inflammation that does occur.

Hi thanks for replying I am 13 and have began physio therapy he has recommended that I stop playing football as it is risky and he has given me some stretches that could help me but the thing is I can't even walk up stairs without my knee getting inflamed and I dunno what to do I am stuck inside during the holidays due to this and is there any other way to get around this except from just waiting it out till I grow out of it which I am certain will not happen as it has been the same for 2 years hasn't got any better or worse

If you have knee pain get a complete physical exam from a qualified knee surgeon to rule out injuries. There is also Yoga for knee pain routine that you can easily do at home. Find Yoga For knee pain on Youtube. This is easy to follow. Most likely you will see results.

Ethan, I see young athletes every week to strap their knees before they play sport with the same condition, it sounds like you have a bad case stopping you from playing completely but as you say, you are only 13. Your physio is right, you will grow out of it, do not loose hope, I know at your age 2 years feels like forever but it will pass if you look after it.

This is a common childhood condition which usually does not require surgery, Ethan is already seeing the appropriate medical professional for this and his doctors advice should be taken over and above some random youtube video.

swimming is good.....for a weight loss diet try this...

Breakfast -- 1/2 cup of oatmeal 3 Hard boiled eggs
Lunch-- Chicken breast with brown rice/black beans *no salt* a vegetable or fruit such as an apple
Dinner -- Chicken breast with sweet potato or the rice/bean combo and a whole avocado
snacks-- almonds, apples, grapefruit *not in syrup* Almond peanut butter, almond milk
what to put on your chicken -- TacoBell mild sauce *25 MG of sodium in the entire bottle*

Cheat day -- thin crust pizza from papajohns :D
I am on track to lose 30lbs and then drop down to a healthy weight of 229. I am 6'7 so that is a good weight for me.
I also do cardio every day mixed with weight training. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask :D
*quote of the day* --> If you think your hungry, eat an entire apple. If you cant, your not hungry your bored.
