help i lost my butt!

In my high school days I was very athletic and had a nice figure... my butt and legs were my greatest assets. I have since then been on an up and down cycle with gaining and losing weight. A little over a year ago I became a vegeterian. Since then I have noticed that I have lost a bit of muscle tone and have introduced a protein supplement into my diet. I do realize that this loss is also from lack of exercise. Which I have started doing again. My major complaint is my butt... it needs lifting... it used to be somewhat big and I liked that, so I don't want to lose anymore than I already have. Can anyone suggest any exercise that will help me get it back? Please...

squats and deadlifts. both work the glutes, lower back, hamstrings, and quads (to varying degrees).

also the lack of complete proteins in your vegatarian diet is likely the main reason you lost muscle mass. veggies don't contain all the amino acids we need to stay healthy, nor does soy protein. you have to study up a little and learn how to combine non-animal protein sources to get all the aminos you need. its quite doable, just takes some learning.

do you not eat dairy or eggs too (like, more vegan? or just no meat/fish/poultry?)

I am not vegan because I do still eat eggs and while I don't "drink" milk, I do consume other forms of dairy.

Thanks for your help....
