Hi! I'm new here(obviously). I'm a 25yr old college student who started working on lossing weight a year ago. I'm 5'6 and I've gone from being 245lbs at my heaviest, now down to 185. I feel great! But, I still hate the way I look. For the first 7 months of my weight loss, I didn't do any regular exercise, just dieting and walking more places than I used to. For the past semester I've been taking advantage of the gym on campus, and now it's something I look forward to. I try and make it there at least 5 times a week, and I just recently was able to do a full 30 minutes of cardio, something that I've never been able to do before :D I also do strength training every other gym visit. I still feel as though I have a long way to go. If I could loose another 30lbs that would be great, another 50lbs would be awsome!
Even though I've lost 60lbs though, when I look in the mirror I still can't see it, Everyone else though can't stop talking about how great I look. Anyone else have this problem?

Hi Muse,
Welcome to the WLF :)

Congratulations on losing 60 pounds! That is FANTASTIC!

I think it's easy for ourselves not to "see" much of a difference. We had years and years of seeing ourselves overweight. I know I did. And that's what the mind's eye sees. I really think that as we get used to seeing our image, passing reflection, pictures, we'll begin to see ourselves where we really are vs where we were.

It'll just take time :)

Best of luck to you as you reach your goals!

Congratulations on your already amazing weight loss! Losing 60 pounds is a huge accomplishment.

My sister has also lost a large amount of weight, but claims she can't tell the difference either. I think where she sees it the most is in old pictures that were taken of her at her heaviest. Do you have any old, unflattering photos of you? You might really be able to see the difference there.

Good luck with the rest of your weight loss!

I agree with that, Ive only lost 8 so far, but I was already told by someone that they could tell, and I dont see a difference, I took a before picture, and I plan to take a picture after 20lbs lost so I can document it...I get discouraged cause I dont see a diference...

good luck to your weight loss!
