Hello world...I'm Suzy and I want to be 160!

Yeah, walking is a great exercise. Walking plus eating decent helped me lose my weight to begin with! I'm so gonna start to go on lunchtime walks once the weather becomes decent again. Snow and slush is no fun especially when you don't have boots!

When you say you kept up the food journal, does that mean you stuck with your calorie goal? Or just writing everything down? It's great to write everthing down that way you know what's going on! So good on ya for that.

Day 13

Day 13: 218
What did I do: Went for a walk and kept up the food journal

Bit of a crazy day today...Want to stay calm, focused...Zennnnn :coolgleamA:

Cheers
Suzy

Walking is a great way to get calm! Sometimes when I was stressed and went for a walk (at work on my lunch break) it helped a lot. Plus I felt good for not just sitting on my ass for an hour thinking about the snacks in the snack cupboard, lol.

Great job with the food journaling, truly one of the greatest things you could do! And I agree with Risty, sometimes a nice long walk is the greatest mental and physical exercise.

Keep it up!

Day 14, 15, 16 - What a week

Hi guys!!

Day 14: 217
What did I do: Kept up the food journal

Day 15: 217
What did I do: Kept up the food journal

Day 16: 216
What did I do: Went to the gym and kept up the food journal

For a short week back at work it was surprisingly ugly(!!)... :ack2:
I work in financial services. One of my customers is upset and it doesn't make a lot of sense. I need to exercise for stress management as much as weight loss...

If it wasn't for the forum I don't know if I would still be doing this after 16 days. It is having a positive effect, which is great.

Good Luck to everybody with their challenges. This site rocks!!

Aww that's great! The forum defintely helps you keep going and be more accountable that if you're doing it alone. Keep up the good work!

Day 22

Hi guys
Boy this is frustrating!!!!

Haven't had time to work out or keep much of a food journal for the past five days. Work is driving me nuts. It's not all bad, just too much in a short period of time. AAAARGH!!!!!! :smash:

Weight is all over the place... +3 pounds one day, -2 the next. Currently the scale shows 218 although I'm not too sure what that means.

Today is Saturday. I'm going to go to the gym and do the journal thing and come back here later. :troll:

Don't worry too much about scales bouncing, mine gets nuts too. I prefer to keep one day and time each week to weigh in officially. I still look at the scale, and yeah it makes me crazy sometimes, but if I have some faith in my eating plan, and know that I'm doing it right (not lying to myself ;)), usually come my weigh in day it's all good.

Take care, I'm off to the gym now too.

Day 23

Day 23: 218
What did I do: Went to the gym and kept up the food journal

So I went and worked out today. Once I get going it is not that bad!!!

Hey Karl thanks for confirming what I was thinking about the scale number. I'm not going to worry about it. I went to get my hair cut yesterday. As soon as I came in my stylist asked if I had lost weight; he could see it in my face.

Geez the job is stressful at the moment!!! That's what tends to mess me up. Since I came back in January I have six, count 'em, six prospective new transactions on the go, plus the previously mentioned client from hell... Six in a week and a half whereas four in a month is usually good!!

I believe this is what they mean when they say if you're going to have a problem, it's not the worst problem in the world to have...Right!

The exercise makes a difference when it comes to stress management, though...I can feel it

Hey Suzy....stress is the worst isn't it when it comes to being able to stick to a programme. I hear what you are saying about the scale...I'm working my behind off, eating well and it has not moved at all this week...grrrrrr. You can do this, and you are right exercise makes all the difference to stress, it's just getting started that can be the problem!

Hey SuzyQ, just thought I'd say hi...new to posting in your journal :) I was reading through and wanted to say that I've had the same problem with sugar in the past. What I didn't know is I was insulin resistant. Not saying you are but everyone's body is different and I know that the more sugar I had the more I wanted. The doctor told me this was normal. It's amazing how my craving for sweets has gone down since I've been on metformin so I'm lucky. And here's my belated welcome to the forum, lol

Hey Suzy! Checking in with you! I understand about those frustrations, I constantly have them. Working out is one of the greatest stress relievers I know of. Nothing beats a good, hard, sweaty workout! Set goals every week that you can accomplish with little change to your schedule, no quick big overhauls. The more you can tick off the list, the more accomplished you will feel, and the more likely you'll stick to your overall goal.

I believe in you!!! GOOD LUCK!

Hey, sorry about work being stressful. Exercise definitely does help relieve stress, the hard part is making yourself exercise especially when you have other things on your mind, lol. But, once you've done it, it makes you feel awesome!

Just keep at it, weight can do some weird things, just don't give up. If you keep going, it'll come off :)
