Hey all!

Newbie checking in. :waving: I currently weigh 187lbs and although I've lost weight in the past I've gradually managed to put it all back on, and so I've decided it's time to do something about it.

I am hoping to lose the weight at a sensible, slower pace in the hopes of keeping it off and also to avoid "getting sick of" the diet restrictions and excercise involved!

I am hoping to lose a fair amount of weight by the coming Autumn, as I am going on holiday in september and in october I go to university, and for both these things I want to feel comfortable with the way I look so that I can be confident and enjoy myself.

Overall I think I should be aim for about 140lbs... I think that would be a healthy and comfortable weight for me as I am quite big built. But I'll know what is a good weight when I reach it. :)

So wish me luck! I am hoping to get involved with a few of the challenges I see on here maybe, to motivate me.

Hello and welcome. It is good that you don't mind going the slower route. The slower the better it stays off better that way. It is also great you have a goal. I too started with a goal and focused on that. Mine was a bathing suit I bought this winter that I would have never been able to wear if not for losing weight. And I am happy to report it now fits. So go for it and you will get the support you need here to reach your goals. Good luck Tina

I am new to this thread as well. I recently gained back about 10 lbs after losing 20, and would like to get some of my eating habits under control. :smash:

Hey all,

Well day 3 and so far so good!

Gonna get down to the gym for half an hour now, I'm aiming to go three times a week as before I was making myself go every day and ended up so annoyed with it that I found excuses and ended up almost never going! (A waste of good money apart from anything else!)

I am also going to refrain from weighing in more than weekly, as another of my bad habits is jumping on the scales all the time in the vain hope another lb has dropped off. :rolleyes:

I will start a diary thread when I get a minute. :)

I know how you feel, I too have been 180, and hopefully I never get there again
