Hello,

I would like to extend my warm welcome to all on this forum. I feel much better now that I have found a potential support group in my journey to improve my body and attain peace with my confidence, health and personal satisfaction. I started my program last month, at 225 pounds (1+/-)* and right now I am at 210 pounds (1+/-)*. My goal weight is 170 pounds, (possibly 5 pounds more) and my goal date is Early June 2008. I will keep you guys updated as often as possible.

Hi Im Jill!

Thank You for your insightful comment. That is perhaps the best compliment you could give me, but it has a downside: I will think that I am delusional in thinking that I am fat :blush5:) But no worries, I am sure you would agree that I am not in ideal shape at the moment (nudge nudge) I will keep at me goal in the meantime.

Hello, Welcome to this wonderful place.
You will find a lot of information and helpful people ready to help you with every step that you take.
I, also would assume your *fat* you don't look at all like that.

Thanks for joining the Forum take care

Thanks!

Smile!!! and Good Luck

Hey! THANKS for your reply. (I get that smile comment all the time. It seems my self image prevents me from ever doing that unless I get tickled) I had a question; we seem to be on the same path in terms of the amount of weight we want to lose. What are you doing to lose, other than cutting calories. I plan to walk 30 minutes a day at least. Anything else you recommend? Any specific workout routines? Please respond. I appreciate your help. (And I promise I WILL smile in my after pic.:patriot:)

Hey - I don't think you're fat either. But, everyone has a different perception of what "fat" is. ~How tall are you?

I think its great that you are nice/polite to everyone; I'm the same way. However, you have to understand that certain people will always be hateful and there's nothing you can do to change that. You should ignore that girl's comment; don't let someone else ruin your day over an issue like that.

Anyways- good luck with your weight loss!

Hey Mike,
Thanks for your advice. I appreciate it. My height is about 6 feet two inches, my current weight is 212 Pounds. My goal is 165 Pounds by Mid June of this year. I have cut out all sugar, white bread, sugary drinks, juice, etc. I just have to start exercising now. Can you give me any tips/advice on how to attain my goal within this time period? I will appreciate it very much. And thanks for the consolation. I know I shouldn't have been worked up by that lady's comment, but unfortunately, in Indian society, when someone in the family comments like that, it is taken in a different way, and after that even my parents started hounding me to lose weight to the point where I felt like *fairly modest expletive*. And BTW, its not that I am in shape, its just that I carry my weight well. One last question: Do you think that my goal of losing that many pounds is feasible in that time period? (Its like 55 pounds in 5 months). Please reply.

Hey. Any reason why you chose 165 as your goal weight? J/w, cause you're tall.

I think you should enter your info into a daily caloric intake calculator, so that you can see exactly how many calories you should be eating (for healthy weight loss). Just make sure you are eating enough, and not starving yourself.

Nice work on tossing the sugary drinks (sodas, etc). It can be so easy to drink six+ cans of coke without even realizing what you're doing.

Your goal sounds reasonable as long as you are strict with yourself and stay dedicated to whatever weight loss program you decide on going with. My advice at this time (since you asked for it) would be to stay within your calorie range and set up an exercising schedule/plan. Don't overdo it on the exercise this early into your weightloss, otherwise you might feel burnt out.

Congrats on starting the journey - that's usually the hardest part.

mike: how are you losing all this weight?

QUOTE=Kumty;398212]Hey guys,
As I write this, beads of sweat flow down my face and with each gulp of Aquafina I drink, my heart beats in rhythm. I cant describe how good it feels to exercise. I just came back from a heart pounding 35 minute Jog/Run climbing hills, jumping over logs, all the aerobic goodies... and I just feel...rejuvenated. Seriously, exercise is like a fountain of youth, absolutely amazing feeling. Just like dark chocolate, bittersweet, yet so sinfully enjoyable. I am glad to have finally discovered the joys of exericise. *whew* my hands are shaking in joy (lol!). Thank you guys for all you encouragement. If I keep this up (with the grace of god and my stamina) I will surely acheive my goal. Oh and another good news: I am now eating normally AND exercising. I have lost five pounds since my last update! So there goes the ticker... 208 Pounds!!!. Yay!!![/QUOTE]

Welcome to the forum! You're doing wonderfully so far, great job! Just keep up that good work!
