Hello all, I’ve been lurking for a few weeks now and finally worked up the nerve to speak out loud.
I’d like to say that I’m currently trying to get back into shape; but that would mean that at some point in my life I was in shape.
I’ve never been in shape. I’m a bookish introvert who, until recently that is, has never seen the inside of a gym.
Thanks largely to those new stretch weaves, I had been the same size since I was about 15 years old. That is until I turned 33. Long story short, I tried to buy some new clothes and ended up crying in the parking lot after I discovered I went up two sizes in eight months.
My goal is to be lean and statuesque. Currently though, the only statue I resemble is the Venus of Willendorf, only with smaller breasts. I weigh roughly 200 lbs, depending on what scale I’m using.
Now for a question. My problem has never been over eating. I tracked my calories for a month, even including things like extra half and half in my coffee, and found out that I don’t even eat 1000 calories a day. I don’t drink soda; in fact, other than my morning coffee, I only drink water. It’s not that I am purposefully starving myself, I’m just not hungry. I love food, and I’m a great cook, but I never really feel hungry.
Does anyone else have this problem? According to both my doctor and my trainer I should be eating more. My trainer assured me that once I started working out I’d want to eat more but that hasn’t happened. I’ve been hitting the gym for over a month now and still haven’t seen an appetite change. Is this something that anyone else is going through? How are you handling it?
