I wanted to stop in and say hello to everyone. I stumbled across this site yesterday and have been addicted ever since! I think it is fantastic that this community is out there and thriving - I know I need the extra motivation!

About me:

I am a 25 year old male near Raleigh, NC. I have been married for 3 1/2 years and have a lovely little girl. Also, I have another little one on the way. This little no-name person is actually a huge motivator to my recent decision to become healthy. Pregnancy sets a great time frame for weight-loss (at least for the husband). I have until January 26, 2009 to reach my goal. I CAN DO IT!

I haven't always been overweight. Merely 6 years ago I was considered too skinny by most people. I weighed 160 pounds and was very happy with my body. Then, when I moved in with my (now) wife I started gaining weight, eventually leveling out at 232.2 pounds. I was disgusted with myself, so I started working out and became very healthy. I reached my goal of 180 pounds in 4 short months. Only one problem. I weighed 180 pounds for all of 1 day! I started to gain weight immediately after reaching my goal.

Now, 2 years later, I am at 242 pounds and even more miserable than before! I've tried starting over again and again, but each time I fail.

This time is different, I can feel it! Instead of this 'all or nothing' attitude that I am accustomed to, I am taking it one day at a time, and one meal at a time.

Good luck to everyone out there, I hope you all reach your goals!

Oh yes congrats to your and your wife! And welcome.

I would agree with Mal that you must make a lifestyle change and get your mind into the game... the loosing part is easy.

Welcome and good luck!

Thanks guys! I will definitely take your advice and read the sticky threads and try to abolish my "all or nothing" attitude!

so far, so good!!!!

My hubby and I both blimped out after our son was born.... He's almost 2 now and Im still carrying alot of baby weight..and my hubby is as well..

I was 232 in june and last weigh in day(thursday) I was 220. Its harder when your SO doesnt care to lose the weight. He has a crap load of snacks in the house. He loves to eat out as well. So I try to plan ahead and go the whatever resturants nutritonal facts online and choose what will be the healthest to eat. Im sure when shes craving something you might want to eat it as well. Just say no. Good Luck!
