Heading 4 And Reaching The 100's!

Holy Smokes Bep, great job!

I'm still at 203, but I had a brief scare above that after a little too much vacation fun, so I'm happy to be back. I'm also being the princess of exercise lately, so I'm hoping to reach onederland soon!

I'm at 202 today, I've never actually been lighter than this since my teens (which was nearly half my life ago!) but I've been down to 202 once before - on medication. I take this as a personal challenge to beat this silly number and realize that losing 3 pounds is a big milestone for me, but losing one would be better than I've managed in my entire adulthood. I'm still gonna lose 13 though.

the impossible dream

I didn't join this club when I first started on here, I think because I have not been under 200 pounds in 14 years, and I guess maybe it is almost scary to let yourself dream when you are first starting out.

Anyway, I am confident now that the 200's will be history before long, and I want in! I have 33 pounds to go, but I am going to make it, too! Good luck everyone!

Ok, so I am not sure who all is still in this, so I am starting a new list. Those of you that joined before, let me know if you are still in it. :)

Twinmom ~ New member!!! :D ~ 233
Missprincess ~ 202
Bep ~ 220
Beachcomergal ~ 201
Hypo hippo ~ 207

One hot mama ~ 198
(Already in onderland. Don't we envy her? Lol!)

Again, anybody who started while Tina was doing this, let me know if you are still in it. Just didn't want to keep repeating all the names if they weren't here anymore.

*sigh* I didn't lose any weight this week. Bummer. I did great 5days on cals and OK on the other 2 and got TONS and TONS of exercise. Oh well...I'll see what happens this week.

27

That's 27 pounds in about 9 weeks. I'd say it is possible, but pretty ambitious. 27 pounds in 14 weeks (by the end of September) would be a lot more realistic goal. That would be about 2 pounds a week.

When you first joined, you said you wanted to be out of the 200's sometime in September. Is there a reason you now say you need the scale to say 100's by August 19th? It's easy to get caught up in the excitement and get anxious for the weight to come off fast, but remember 2 pounds a week is a really healthy way to lose it and keep it off. Make that your goal, and you can make the weight loss last a lifetime!

well my son starts high school in august, but I don't want to try and loose too much too fast, that's how it all comes back. I think I'll aim for end of September. 2 lbs a week sounds better. Thanks

goals

Hey, smallerbytheday, I have been thinking about your post a LOT. I realized that I am also really bad about doing that to myself - setting reasonable goals, then wanting to do more and being upset with myself if I don't. When I first started out, I wanted to lose at least 5 pounds per month, which would make me 60 pounds lighter in a year. Now, after losing 10 pounds in the first month, I feel like I want to lose 10 pounds a month - double my original goal. I should be happy with 5 per month and just treat any extra as a bonus, but sometimes it is hard to keep things in perspective.

Anyway, in answering your post, it helped me to deal with some of my own issues, too! So, thanks! :)

That's what it's all about. I got all teary at you two reminding each other to be reasonable & feel good about your realistic successes. We're not going to turn into supermodels overnight, and every pound we do shed makes the battle a little more challenging. Keep your chin up and be proud of making healthy, sane choices & improvements. Great job!

I wanna be in this club, I want to get my weight down to 175, all you gotta do is believe in yourself.

I just wanted to pop in and say that I think this club is great! I feel like I am too far away to make onederland a goal right now- but I hope that I can feel better about joining this club in a month or two. Keep up the good work guys!

Yeah after doing 20 mins in the gazelle last nite I woke up today with way toooo many goals. I think I need to pick a mini goal and just focus on that.

That's whats sabotaged me in the past, I get a little results then I want too much too soon.

I think this week will just be to get in 20 mins of cardio every day, If I can get it in twice that's a plus but as long as I get my 20 a day i'm in good shape.

Thanks everyone.

so I added a new ticker, I need to start concentrating on smaller goals, so I've decided to make my first goal: 20 mins of cardio every day. I started on 6/20/06 so it I continue that till 6/30/06 I'll have 10 days in a row!!! That's also going to be the first day I weigh myself.

I even started today with 10 misn on my gazelle this morning.

What's a gazelle? I assume you're not talking about the springy little antelope cousin that's a favorite prey of lions, right?

King & Valapalooza, you're both welcome in the club. Nobody is too far away! Mini goals are a fantastic tool for getting there, and you should keep your big goal in the back of your mind to remember why you're doing this. Your big goal can be anything: 10k race, a marathon, triathalon, 10 flights of stairs, keep up with your kids or spouse, a certain pants size, weight, or body fat percentage, whatever your dream is - your motivation should always be taking care of yourself. Doing that will allow you to take care of whom or whatever else you feel is important. You deserve to be healthy and happy, and that's your motivation, no matter where you're starting from. So, welcome, and if you officially post your weight, our gracious and wonderful moderator, the lovely miss hypo hippo will put you on the update list (just shows where we all are & where we're headed).
