Hdawg's Diary

Hello. I am a new member here trying to lose some weight. I started exercising for 2hours a day every day, mostly walking, but some elliptical and stationary bike too.

I started off at 293lbs on September 15, 2007.
Currently at 279lbs as of October 7, 2007.
My goal is around 190lbs.
Target weight still to lose, 80lbs.

I have been trying to eat healthier, although I'm not on the most strict diet. I stopped drinking pop, and now with water and crystal light, along with getting rid of all junk food.

Currently, I eat a small breakfast, maybe a bowl of cereal and fruit or a yogurt and fruit. For lunch I usually have a salad or tuna sandwich. I switch off between those every other day. Usually for supper I have something that is not too healthy(soup or some kind of meat). I usually snack in the day with apples or carrots/celery. Also, after I work out, I usually eat a rice cake and apple.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I know I need to start eating a better supper.

Started dieting and counting calories yesterday. Hopefully I can keep it up. I think I'm going to try to keep below 1800 calories a day for now. Maybe I will lower it a little bit more in the future, but right now I think 1800 seems like a good number.

Well, I need to find a way to lose weight faster. Since the last time I posted in this thread until now, I have lost 9lbs. Most of this has been due to just eating healthier, although still probably eating around 2100 calories a day or so. I do exercise some, but not too often.

Can some people recommend me some things to try? I have a terrible time really losing any weight when exercising. I see all these people losing 3-5lbs a week, and although my food intake is higher than some of those people, how can I get into that groove?

Good job on eating healthier! It also looks like you haven't been in your diary for a while, so welcome back! I would really suggest getting into an exercise routine that just becomes part of your lifestyle. It may seem as though it isn't helping at first, but it takes time to see results. They WILL come if you are consistent and have a good plan.

My problem is, I don't really know what is a good routine to burn fat and what isn't. When I go to the gym, usually I spend 40-45minutes on an exercise bike(average about 14.5mph) and then about 30minutes doing different weight resistant machines.

Anybody know of a few good programs or exercises that can increase fat loss?

looks like when you do go to the gym you spend a long time. why don't you try decreasing the time to maybe 30 mins (thats what i do) and then try to fit that in everyday. i try doing different excercise routine everyday(keeps it interesting lol).

Check diaries for ideas and stickies.

Good luck with your goals
