Has anyone else tried Alli?

I have tried it! I have heard a lot of horror stories about people getting yellow "leakage", but have only had this happen once, and I have been taking it for three months. It was when I went to a barbecue and kinda went off plan and ate a hotdog and a turkey burger (I was only going to have the turkey burger, but my nieces absolutely refused to eat the hot dog and I didn't want it to go to waste...) It wasn't really that bad. I also had some other foods which weren't exactly in my plan. So if you eat healthy and keep in your fat/calorie range you shouldn't have any problems... at least, that's my experience.

I've lost 23 lbs in 3 months. I hope this is all the information that you needed. If you wanted more information, I could give it to you!

I lost 17 lbs on it, in about 3 months, and I stuck to the calorie and fat intake religiously. I realize that amount isn't amazing, but it was good for me. I probably would've lost more like 12 lbs without it.

It is imperative that you eat the max fat grams allowed, without going over, and that you know EXACTLY what the calorie/fat content is in EVERYTHING you put in your mouth, and journal it.

If you don't eat enough fat, the pill won't absorb as many calories, and you won't get maximum benefits. I found it hard at first to eat 1200 calories a day, AND about 40 grams of fat. I was used to relying on things like Lean Cuisine, low fat snacks, etc, and they just do not have enough fat grams to make ALLI work effectively. To combat this, I would add 1 cashew for each gram of fat I needed to add.

I had no "treatment effects", but as I said, I stuck to the fat gram guidlines, without exception. It's hard to do when the inevitable birthday party, holiday, party, etc..comes up. So, it DOES keep you in line, so to speak, because you dread "effects", but I think it's hard to stick to because you should be able to eat a small piece of pizza or birthday cake once in a while, KWIM? You can NOT on this plan.

In short, it's a great way to keep you honest, and does yield results, but the inability to EVER have a "treat" gets old after a few months.

Hope that helps:)

If you try it, I highly recommend you register your product on their website and join their forum, as you will have questions.

I'd just add in here that from a pure weight loss perspective it might be useful since well.. it means that you basically can't get calories from fat which is why it can result in... lets call it ... anomalies when it comes to rectal behavior.

From a health perspective it isn't really that helpful since it'll allow you to keep on having somewhat bad habits, not horrible habits, but bad habits, when it comes to eating and... Unless a doctor tells you to use it I'd be against it based on that alone.

The horror stories are true but it is a small group of users that suffer from the leakage, terrible pains etc. so I wouldn't worry so much about that. Any drug that does something is going to have side effects simply due to the fact that there are only so many sites drugs can interact with and no sites that are only responsible for one single thing in the body so... :)

Anyways I have no experience using it but just wanted to chime in and tell you that it is perfectly harmless if you don't overdo fat eating and... remember to get good dieting habits. Also, ignore anyone posting links to places that sell stuff on the internet, always.

What would we choose diet-pill roulette or proper weight-loss solution?

I started on it this week and am wondering what other people's experiences have been.

To avoid all these side effects, why not go for old-fashion diet program with combination of exercise. In nowadays you can find many good diet programs where you would not have any side effect; moreover, you would not waste your hard-earned money.

Many times people are under the assumption that when they diet they must give up their favorite foods forever. That simply is not true. Healthy diet plans are all about moderation. They should offer dieters choices in regards to the different healthy items that are available to them.

Another warning from FDA, they said there is bogus version of Alli being sold all over the Internet. How to check that your bottle isn't fake one, check for "lot code" on the top of cardboard packing if is missing is fake one, also check for "sealed for your protection" if this writing is missing on the bottle is could be the fake one.

Guys if you do buy this weight-loss drug at least make sure it isn't fake one.
Take care of your-selves.

Maybe, however, the mods are the ones who decided that you are not allowed to link to those things. If it was a free article about weight loss or a real blog about your journey alone, they allow that stuff. What you have in yours is some of your own info and a link to 'learn more' which is not only a direct link to a sale site..when you try to leave, you get an annoying popup to try and keep you in the site.

No one says here don't give advice, they just don't like links to sell diet plans and pills. You would have to talk to them (or read the site rules)

:)

I see the commercial for Alli every so often. My eyes often dart to the fine print for these programs, and for this one it says expected weight loss, with a reduced calorie diet and exercise, is typically around 1.5-2 pounds a week.
Isn't this what someone doing diet and exercise loses anyways?

i considered this originally before i started working out and eating right.

all i had to hear was anal leakage... and i decided a little sweat on my shirt was preffered tover a little leak in my drawers.

i dont regret deciding to do things the hard way one bit!!!! :)

I've actually heard really good things about Alli. As soon as I have the money, I'm going to try it.
This month, I tried changing up our grocery list to all healthy stuff. We ran through most of our budget, and now have next to nothing to eat for the next week. We have to buy some cheap, fatty things, until our income gets better. So, Alli would be the perfect solution.
I would rather have the possibility of oily gas, than have the reality of daily yeast infections from too many folds of fat. I hate to be blunt, but it's the truth.
I just get discouraged when someone asks the question, "Who has tried it?" and people who have never tried it come and beat it down. Everyone can read the pros and cons of the product on the site. It's better to get a real account of use from someone on a forum that we trust.

You don't have to buy fatty things to save money on food. There are lots of cheap, healthy food, like oatmeal, eggs, beans, rice, peanut butter, frozen vegetables, bananas, and so forth. What is the "healthy" food you ran through your budget on?

Eggs are the best. They are so damn cheap and filling it's ridiculous. Also, you have to shop around a bit. I found a Deli Warehouse in my area and I can get Eggs for 99 cents, Deli Ham for 1.99 a pound, lettuce for 99 cents. I felt like I traveled back to 1995...perhaps I should check expiration dates

I could spend our last 10 dollars on things to make one meal, or 10 dollars on 10 microwavable things. I know my financial situation, and the markets around me. Please don't try to suggest things when it comes to finances.
Again, this is a thread to see if anyone has tried it, and what their experience was...not to give a different solution.

So I still don't have any personal experience since I am ... biased against it, oh and full disclosure, I am biased against it, there.

Now, update news!

I have now had all in all 10 clients using alli... and due to the nature of my, sometimes wonderful!, job I have had the experience of watching the result of someone eating a load of alli when on a hospital administered diet following the guidelines for healthy eating. (no, not the woo woo grass fed berry ones, the real science-based ones) and man... shitting fat... does not look pleasant.

Other than that it worked wonderfully, my dear client did in fact not gain weight because she screwed our plan for her up by removing all the fat kcal from her diet.

So, I'm pretty confident that it does what it says on the tin, I'm also pretty confident I'll never go anywhere near it.

What I'm wondering is, if this is something people plan on taking indefinitely. If it's just a temporary solution to get to a certain weight, what then? Then you will have to learn how to eat properly to stay at your new weight. If that's the case, why not do that now?

This, in my opinion, is the crux of things like alli, ephedra, powder VLCD's etc. There is no denying that it technically works in the sense that it enables weight loss. Whether it makes for a good chance of long term weight loss, and health improvement, is a whole other debate.

I'm probably going to try it just to give myself a push. I am good at maintaining weight, just horrible at getting it off. I only gained so much weight because of my first pregnancy, and then severe depression due to my mom dying. I know that I could use something like Alli to get it off, and then stop taking it once I am near my goal.
I don't think this is for people who have an eating disorder. It would just put sparkly goodness over the real problem of not eating correctly in the first place.
