Hack squats

I moved gyms a few weeks ago and all this one has is a squat rack and free weights and cables. All that i need lol

My old gym had a hack squat machine that i used a few times. My question is
1. Are hack squats worth it?
and
2. If they are, are doing them with a bar and such(behind the back) worth the injury risk?
 
This is just from personal experience and I do not have any articles or real information to back it up but my own experience. I used to do hack squat but once I started doing regular barbell squat, I have not used the hack ever again. The issue with me was that it was difficult for me to keep my knee from going past my toes which caused too much stress on my knee. My vote is to skip the hack and just go regular squats.
