Gym @ night- eat before or after?

Have to start working out but must be after work (5pm). I was thinking of eating @ 5:30 then hitting the gym @ 7. Also, I'm just starting out so I was thinking of doing 5 days a week. Each day 30 mins of cardio and then 30 mins of strength alternating upper and lower. How does that sound?

It doesn't matter wether you work out at 11 am, or 11 pm, you still have to eat after your workout. But don't worry, if your workouts are intense enough, your muscles won't let any carbs or proteins be stored as fat, because it needs them.

Alot of people don't like the idea of doing cardio before strength training, but i say, if you don't completly exhaust yourself with cardio before hand, then you can lift.

It doesn't matter because if you lift at 7 you should be eating another meal (maybe 2) before you go to sleep. And if you're just starting perhaps go 3-4 days cardio and 3 days lifting, then progress.

Eat about an hour before and then immediately following. Also work a complete rest day in there after two days of strength training. Ex:U,L, off, U, L, off

yeah start off a bit slower or you won't be able to progress unless you keep doing more sessions...i would start with wts only then as fat loss slows or gains depending on your goal, then add in a small amount of cardio and then slowly increase that if needed...as for food in evening, if you find that your gaining a little fat, try having 20 - 4-% of your post workout carbs pre workout so there will be less spill over
