Guideon's diary of change

That's like 19 miles an hour! Make sure the crank for the pedals is well lubricated or it will burst into flames.

Granted that would look really cool while you're speeding along, but it would damage your bike (and possibly your shoes) pretty bad.

Lol Flaming Biker... that would be awesome :D

Going to start doing ab-exercises this week, on the non-running days. Those are really useful for running, and only take about 15 mins a day.

Impressive result on the bike :p I was thinking about it some days ago, doing bike outside is probably less efficient than inside since I remember when I was a kid, you don't always pedal outside :p

Riding outside is probably more efficient than on a home-trainer. When you're on a real bike you're using more muscles to keep your balance than on a home trainer, which doesn't fall over.
There's also a lot of other factors that make it harder like wind and rolling resistance from the tires.
Plus it's so much better to be outside :)

Yea true, but when you're outside you can't always pedal if you don't wanna take too much speed, right? But you're right about these other details!

I think you are quite right Benny, I can do 20 km outside with no special effort (if it's not very windy of course), 20 km gym bike would be a struggle.
I don't use my bike for exercise though, affraid to wear it down.

Really? I always find my HR to be lower on the stationary bike compared to a real bike when doing similar speeds.
Well it's not a spinbike, maybe that's a difference.

It's opposite with me, gym bike wears me out completely if I do 20 km in one hour, outside the same km/h is nothing special.
Don't know which kind of gym bike it is, it has always been like that to me.

Running again today, same distance & pace as Saturday, but now in intervals, so running faster in interval and slowing down during recovery. Should help me with my speed.

Also banged my knee into the coffetable :cuss: Luckily it was my other knee, feels a little stiff right now....
So maybe I'll limping around again tomorrrow saying "Arrr, Matey! "

Real biking is way harder than fake biking. For one thing you gotta keep your eyes open. On my stationary bike I get on my iPod, close my eyes and time travel back to the eighties.

My "coffee table" knee feels much better now, should be fine tomorrow.

Time to work out the abs again...

Your bike riding is really impressive. I started looking at bikes at our local stores to get a feel for which one I should get if I get one. I really like the idea. I may wait until spring though since our winter is going to be here soon. I'm glad your knees are getting better. Now be careful around that coffee table so you don't bang that one up again!

I was just thinking.... are you really sure that YOU'RE the one hitting the table? Maybe it's the table that's coming after you? I think I'd replace that piece of furniture. Clearly it has problems! :D

 my furniture is plotting against me. A Revolution is brewing. Never will they take me, I'll burn 'em all :D
Or maybe it's just clumsy ol' me bumping into things :p

Having trouble sleeping last few nights (it's 02.00 am here now), seems like my mind is racing, while the rest of my body just wants to rest. Guess that hiking trip is coming at the right time (just a week and a half to go :) ).
So since I have been staring at the ceiling for a few hours now, I decided to turn on the pc, and read up on the diaries here (while playing some music specially this one: , was the themesong of last year's Caribbean holiday, so puts me in the right kind of mood)
