I'm Brian, I'm 26 years old, married with a beautiful daughter, and I want to live to see her grow up.
I currently weigh 315 lbs (but "I carry it well"), and I'd like to eventually get down to 220... but for now, I'm shooting for 270.
I live across the parking lot from my apartment complex's gym, which I can get into 24/7. It's nothing special, but I can watch a movie and do elliptical or walk on a treadmill. There are some other machines, but I'm going to stick to cardio for now.
My main problems are that I have some serious self-discipline issues, so I'll do really well on a diet and exercise plan for a few weeks, but it'll suddenly collapse because I'm sick of writing stuff down or I just don't feel like going to the gym. I usually eat pretty healthily, but I just eat too much of it. If there are good savory snacks in the house, it can lead to me binging.
I cook dinner every night for my family (I love to cook... I love food), so I have control over my dinners, which is a great thing... and a bad thing.
Besides my weight-loss goals... I love playing guitar, reading, playing video games, and even the occasional non-sedentary activity like judo or a team sport.
I'm not sure where to start this time... but I'm doing the weekly shopping trip tomorrow, so that might be a good place to start.
I know lots of things about diet, exercise, and motivation. What I am looking for most from this forum is a support network and maybe something to hold me accountable. Maybe I can partner up with a couple newbies on here and we can support each other.
Anyway... hi!
