Well this is my first post! I am excited to say I am on the right track! I currently run about 2 miles a day sometimes more but not by much. My goal is to run 3 miles in one stretch of time.

I plan to also incorporate in weights but not till next week. I am kind of sore this week. I have been running for about 3 weeks so far. Before this I was runniing for about a month or 2 but not eating right. Weill now I am trying to eat better. I don't really eat any fried foods. I have cut way back on my portions and I have been doing the food combining thing and that seems to work well for my digestive system. I was really not doing so good in that area.

Any hoo! I am just excited to be moving in the right direction. I haven't lost much but its definetly a start! I am setting a goal to at least during the week take time to write in my diary daily just to chart my progress and figure out whether or not I am doing something wrong.

Please Please Please if someone out there see's something that I am not doing correctly let me know.

Here's to loosing big!!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!

Well here goes today I am a little on the sluggish side. I don't really know why I think I get enough sleep. But maybe I'm pms'n or something. Either way I feel like crap. I actually made it to the gym this morning. Last night I ate kind of bad though. I had a steak sandwich/salad and like 5 french fries. On this food combining deal I am not supposed to eat meat and bread together. Well oh well. I have been craving beef a lot too. Tonight I want to eat a filet with some veggies! MMMM sounds so good. I can't wait to get home.

Oh yeah about my workout I was able to get in 2.25 miles today. My goal is to run at about 5 mph. I want to be able to run 3 miles in one 30 min segment. Which means I really need to speed up.

This is my current work out schedule
Sunday-Friday 2 miles daily at a pace of between 4.5-5 mph
I have been doing this for about 3 weeks now I am going to add in some weight training next week 2 days a week So it will be
Sunday Goal 2.5 miles 30min
Monday Goal 2.5miles 30min
Tuesday 15min run 35min weights Full body (I got a workout from fitness mag)
Wednesday 2.5miles 30min
Thursday 15min run 35min weights Full body
Friday 2.5 miles 30min
Saturday my day off!!!
 
My weekend was tiresome. I couldn't get back into the forum yesterday or else I would have vented then. I think I am coming on my cycle and I have a touch of a cold. Soooo today when I went to run (after 4 dayse off!!:confused: ) I couldn't barely make it a mile. My head is conjested and I feel like crap!!! I think I will wait to start my weight training till next week!!

Besides that I guess I am okay. I at did get to the gym this morning which was a great accomplishment all within itself so here's to one day at a time.

I am going to post my training log to see what you guys think!!
 
Hi Speedy. That sucks that you are sick. Drink plenty of water - or get your fluids from hot tea or soup if that's what you prefer. Your body needs fluids to fight the cold. Take a decongestant like Sudafed and a pain reliever like Motrin.

If you take the meds, you may feel up to walking and that's okay to do while you are sick. A mile burns about 100 calories (give or take), and usually takes 14-20 minutes for people to walk. (Okay, am I pushing walking/jogging too much when I say do it while you are sick??????) :p

Now that sounds like a plan. I think I have a combo of things going on. From my own frusterations to this danged cold to my upcoming period!!! That is always and instant downer. I am trying to change my thinking though to that of no matter what is going on in my life or emotions I WILL NOT LET IT DICTATE HOW WELL I TAKE CARE OF ME!!!

Okay when I really believe that I will let you know!!
 
Well today I got a better start then yesterday. I ran my whole 2 miles at a speed of about 4.5mph which is a little on the slow end but I was just glad to have done it!! I feel pretty good this morning. I just have ton's of work to do so I better get to it!!
 
Hi Speedy. I finally found you...excellent work! I need to get into running again too. Sounds like you have a great plan worked out! I'm super busy too...I'm finding it difficult to make time but that's what needs to be done. See you around soon!

Making time is the hardest. I wake up at 5:45 (usually 6am but 5:45 sounds better) to get my run in. I actually am going to have to start a little earlier because my gym is closing so I have to go to one further away:mad: major bummer!!
 
Today I did my 2 miles but decided that if I want to see any real results I am going to have to speed it up a bit. I am back at running 4.7 mph but I am shooting for running and even 5mph by next week. Here's to getting it going!!

That's awesome. I don't run 2 miles at a time yet, though I think I could try. I walk/jog/walk/jog. Someone called it "wog", which might have been a typo, but I like that. Actually, I'd like to be able to call it running, but feel I can't until I can actually go without stopping.

Keep on keeping on. You are doing great.
 
Today I didn't work out thanks to my hubby. He is going away for the weekend on a retreat (boy would I like to go on a retreat:rolleyes: ) So he wanted some luvin hehe before he left so that did it for the moring work out. I will probably try to do some yoga tomorrow but I might not since I can do cleaning since my hubby won't be there. Who knows but either way I'm burning calories!!
 
Well I'm back on track!
Today I made it to the gym. I ran at 5.0 mph for about 25mins. I ran a total of 2.2? miles. I am working my way up to 3miles total. I was actually suprised that I was able to run the entire thing at that speed.

So on to the tough part of my weekend. Sometimes the way that I view myself in the mirror isn't how it really is. I don't see myself fat in the mirror. Just misproportioned but I saw a picture of myself yesterday that brought some reality to how I look to other people! I mean just big for no reason. I actually thought my arms looked short now you know that's bad! Soo I thought I would just do the low carb thing for a bit. But not the lc high fat. I just have to find a way to do it without becoming constipated!! :eek:
