Hello,

My name is Samantha. I have always battled weight my whole life. August 2011 I had enough with being big and unhealthy. As a nurse I know my life style was getting me know where but health problems. I weighted in at 320 Dec 2010, I thought then I was ready to lose. But i really didn't mange to get much off. Aug 2011 I went to the doctor and weigh in at 299 lbs. This is where my journey has started. I have been up and down since really trying to stay focused but having a little trouble. So today I joined the formula in hopes this will motivate me to push and get my goal. Today I currently weight in at 270. My goal weight is 165. I would like to reach this by summer 2013. I currently am trying to eat mostly raw veggies and fruit with some lean protein. I have read little of the book "Eat to live" it is amazing just having trouble cooking and preparing foods. I will say at 300lbs working out was not an easy task. So I am now up too 35 Min's on the elliptical, with 30 Min's circuit (weights and cardio) every other day. Here begins my journey...I can't wait to share and motivate one another.
 
Welcome to the forums Samantha and congrats on hitting a 50lb weight loss already. Sounds like you have a solid nutrition and exercise plan taking shape already. Look forward to seeing your posts and progress in the future.
 
Seems like you're off to a wonderful start! Im a newbie as well and so I hear you on the staying focused and motivated. So far this forum has been very helpful. Welcome!
 
Thank you for the kind words....I weight myself at at work today although I usally weight in on Tuesdays.. I am 265...This makes me super excited I wanted to be 265 by my next doctor appointment which is Tuesday I am sure she wll be so happy....I am hoping with a little extra kick all weekend I might be able to get down a few more... I am going to push as hard as I can, although it is my weekend off and I usally go out and drink (way to many calories)....I am hoping I can find a better active lol...My diet has been really good, alot of lean protein and fruits and veggies... I have added whole grains because I have alot of carb cravings so I figure whole grains are the best....I will update again this week after the doctor :)
