I love to journal. It helps me get things out of my heart and off my chest! When I started this current weight-loss journey, I was at my heaviest, 261. My current weight as of last Friday was 251.5. I have a buddy that has been very helpful this time; very supportive, encouraging and helpful! he is even coming to help me put my new bike together. It really is easier to stick with it when you have someone to be accountable to.
I have had a weight problem for as long as I can remember. I have 2 pictures of myself when I was in high school. I ALWAYS thought that I was fat during high school and college. Looking back on those pictures, I didn't look so bad. Those pictures are on my wall in front of my treadmill. They are what I want to get to by my 44th birthday..8 months to go, LOL.
I had a long day today. I own a catering business and we had a busy day today, so I am signing off and going to bed...
I welcome any suggestions, comments. I can use all the help I can get, hehe
 
Hello- Well I reached the goal that I had set for myself. I am 247, as a last Friday)a weight loss of 4.5 lbs. The secret? Caught the stomach bug that is going around. I was only sick one day, but now it has gone into the flu/cold, I don't know which one. I haven't had the energy or strength to exercise....anyone have any suggestions?
I have a busy week at work, so I am calling my Dr.

Welcome to the forum! I'm still fighting a flu I've had for one week now. Hope you feel better.

Hello-Not feeling well can really put a damper on things...I have reached for "comfort food" more the last couple of days, than I have in months. True, when in the past I would have eaten the whole cheeseburger and all the fries, instead of today when I ate maybe 7 fries, and 1/2 the cb w/ bun.
I have an insulin pump, and you plug in the carbs that you eat. I tried Weight watchers several times, (along with so many others over the years), but it was so hard trying to figure point values and carbs. My friend who is a dietician, sat done and figured out how many carbs, calories etc that I needed to lose weight. He also told me about fitday.com and this forum.
I also have an initial appointment for a consultation for The lap Band procedure next week. Anyone have any info they would be willing to share? I WILL NOT have gastric bypass.
Gonna try and get lots of rest when I can this week..very busy!!
