Yup, I am. I'm gonna do it this time. I am 36 years young. I will be 37 in two months. I am so tired of being overweight for many reasons. I am 5'10 and weigh right around 285. I can't believe I have gotten that big! To think I used to wear a size 4 back in the day. Well, I could care less about the size 4 now, I just want to get healthy. I'm tired of walking around out of breath. No more. This is it. I'm gonna try to do this daily because I really want to get healthy for me so I can be a good mom to my kids and just feel better about me. So, here I go...

Welcome to the Forum Amy.. and good luck with your weightloss journey! You will find lots of support here :D

Well today has been good so far! I know it's only early but I'm still doing good. I didn't get to eat breakfast today, I was in a hurry but I know I need to start, I am really not a breakfast eater so I think I will just start drinking a slimfast. For lunch, I made a yummy salad and used South Beach Diet Italian, which to my suprise was really good. I'm really thinking about things this time. I really want to change ME, there is so much to change and my eating is one that I need to improve. I want my energy back. I didn't get to walk this morning but its so nice out that I think I will walk this afternoon. I'm gonna try the not eating after 7. I know people say it doesn't matter but it does to me because night time is my munchy time and if I can count that out, I know I can lose weight. I haven't weighed myself yet because I know about what I weight but I'm not gonna make it about the pounds this time, I'm gonna try the size thing instead. :)

Nighttime munchies are part of what got me to Bigville. I stop all food and drink (except for water) after 8pm. Period. and it's really helped me to keep all the snacking in check.

Sounds like your making a good start already! Keep up the great work!

Breakfast can be hard to get used to, for someone who's gone a long time wthout eating it. Most people don't feel particularly hungry right when they get up - the body is still in 'fasting' mode, and so isn't necessarily sending the signals to EAT! I know for me, starting eating just a little would kick start it. I'd eat just a few pieces of cereal, go on about my morning routine, and then 10-15 minutes later I'd find that I totally wanted a nice bowl of cereal and maybe a yogurt too! It's like I work the body up by eating just a little. Something you could try?
