OH WOW MISSSY !! YOU DID AMAZINGLY WELL!! SO PROUD OF YOU!!!
Soon you will be running the Marathon! :D

So excited - had to pop back on - race results are in - official time is.....

41:50.....very pleased to be under 42. woohoo!!!!

Great time. Isn't it nice to be able to say- I ran a 5K run?? I just finished my first 10K yesterday. Congrats on the time and finishing the run!!

Thanks guys - means alot.

I was thinking, I might be able to do a 10k as I still had something left in me - we'll work up to that.

Justina - a marathon----we might be a year or two out on that one - but thanks for the confidence.

Was looking forward to my run tonight - but as soon as I pulled in the garage, I heard that hubby had the heat on (trying to be nice and have the place warmed up for when I got home - but we have discussed before - don't turn the heat on - I can't work out).....so, no run for me. Was thinking about going outside, but we have been having pouring rain throughout day.

4:30 am will come quickly - and I have a feeling she is going to work me out hard...but I am ready. I missed my leg workout on Sat.

Jennifer - you are so motivated - i m sure the marathon for you is natural progression!!! of course not immediately...but hey you are doing well!
Hope you had a nice workout this morning - and managed to get up soooo early! :grouphug:

Great workout this morning - she had me do deadlifts - which I have to say are my absolute favs! The rest of the workout didn't seem too difficult - I think I am adjusting to everything and it is not so hard on my body. I have 5 more sessions (I think) with her - then I have to make sure that I am keeping up on my own.

Official weigh in today was 236.5 - I'll take it! I can kinda see that my face/neck is changing and I realized that I need to go into my other closet and start pulling out some clothes to test and see if I am able to fit. If not, it should be very soon.

Your weigh in sounds good! :)

I m planning to dig out my old wardrobe when i m home at my parents. Cant wait!!!

:grouphug:

Congrats on the weigh in! :)

I like deadlifts too and I am also wondering about a 10k now... It's addictive this running lark!!

Strange day today - wanted to get up early and get my run out of the way (would've been a good idea too) - but stayed up late last night and the bed was so warm and cozy - decided to sleep in.

Well...got home from work later than norm and hubby was ready to eat...didn't want to wait an hour for me to finish my workout....and I'm not comfortable running after eating (feel like everything is sloshing about). So I made him promise to call and wake me early tomorrow so I can run in the morning...then I'll do another running session when I get home. My Thursday training session was moved to Friday this week. It's amazing how I have no problem getting up early to see the trainer - but not have the willpower (?) to get out of bed to workout on my own.

I'm going to need to get a handle on that in the next couple of weeks - as I will be on my own soon. I'm a bit bummed out as I was really looking forward to my runs too. I need to learn how to get back in the routine after an off day - not wait for the next week to start to get back in the groove.

I used to execerise in the mornings sometimes, now I have completely given up!!! I just cannot get up at all!!!

I keep sayin as long as you do it, it does not matter what time!

Charlie

I know too well how cozy and warm the bed could be...
You are sooo disciplined to be up sooo early anyway most days
i m proud of you! hugs :grouphug:

That is the problem a lot of people have with training on their own- motivation. You could try what I do- find a time in your day that you can do your run and do it the same time the next day and so on. For instance, I get off work at 3:00. Before I head home I go to the gym or wherever and do my run- then it is done. I had the same problem- I would rather sleep in too-lol. I would then miss my run and feel like crap for the rest of the day. So I made a vow to myself to run everyday. I looked at my schedule and found between 3:30 and 4:30 I could fit my run in just about everyday. Now it has become a habit. By running everyday, I found my distance was increasing big time. You should have rest days. I didn't-lol but I should have incorporated them into running when I first started. I really had to have rest days when I increased my distance to 10K. I had to make a point of not running. Actually the program I am using - the Running Rooms program, when you up the distance to 10K I actually did less running- WEIRD-lol. What I did was what I am still doing today: my long run ( 10K) on Sunday- XTraining on Monday, 6K and bootcamp on Tuesday, Rest on Wednesday, 5K tempo run on Thursday, Weight training on Friday, 3K run on Saturday. So I used to run 5K at least 6 days a week for 30K a week. Now I am running 24 K and was training for a longer distance. I haven't looked at the half marathon training schedule but I have heard it is the same way.

thanks guys - appreciate the support. I am exhausted - probably due to the lack of running this week. Of course, bed was too cozy again this morning - so I stayed there. I did run for 30 min tonight - only amounted to a bit more than 2 miles.

Cowboy - I agree that the same time each day is the way to go....but it would have to be mornings for me....and that is where I lack the motivation. I seem to only be able to do it if I have someone waiting on me (like the trainer). I can usually get home from work, change, and get right on the treadmill....but there are days taht I have appointments scheduled after work (not always - but can certainly throw a wrinkle in things). One of the goals I was thinking of after finishing the 5k was to run that amount on my running days from now on. I just need to finish out these next 2 weeks with the trainer and maybe put pen to paper and map out a schedule and plug it in my calendar. I just don't think mornings are going to do it for me (except weekends).

The next chance I will have to run will be on Monday (planning elliptical and hiking for the weekend) - if the weather is good, I'll run outside - that will at least force me to finish the distance I want.

Heya!!

Sittng down ANC making a plan sounds like a good plan to make you stick to your programme. Will be interested to see what you decide to do.

Enjoy the last two weeks with your trainer! :)

I think if a person can just force themselves to do something about a dozen or so times it becomes habit, and then it's not so hard to keep at it. But like wise if you get those good habits going, then you start sleeping in a few days or take a break from eating well or exercising, those become habit too and they can be hard to break.

It would be so nice if someone could invent a pill or potion that would make us somehow crave the good habits, but hate the bad habits. Maybe crave and hate are not the right words. You know how if you've never worn glasses before and you start, it feels weird? But then after a while if you forget to put them on, you feel naked? We just need to get to the point where we feel naked (or that something vital is missing) when ever we don't exercise. But getting there can be SO HARD some days!

:iagree: with Tigpuppy. It is all about making it a habit. I am for the pill thing too-lol.

Thanks guys - I'm glad this week is over. I have felt like such a whiner and complainer, etc. My workout this morning was awful (my day for that matter) - and I think it was all mental.

Out of sorts getting up 4:20 am on a Friday - did my workout with the trainer and about 40 min in, was just having a devil of a time - feeling dizzy, faint, like I just didn't have any gas left in the tank. She even commented that it is not like me - and I acknowledged that I knew I could do it - it's not like she asked me to climb Everest! Then arrived at work and started my day at 100 mph and it didn't stop.

Good points to the day:

Had 2 deer cross the road in front of me on the way to workout this morning (I am amazed everytime I see them - love it!)

Completed my workout

Met a friend for lunch - wonderful to take 45 min in the middle of the day for nice conversation

Had dinner with family tonight - bonus - they had pictures there from Sept. - I can definitely see the weight loss from then to now. Unofficially at 25 lbs down now.

Came home and checked email - and got the best laugh of the day. Photos from the 5k were emailed out (they want you to purchase them of course) - I totally love that I can laugh at myself and not be embarrassed like I thought I would be. Did not look at all of the photos - but 2 of them were as I neared the finish line - I looked like I was going to drop at any moment (kinda how I was feeling then too).

On another note - on our way to from the parking lot to the restaurant tonight there was a group of 20 something's (I referred to them as hoodlums - as they looked like they were up to no good) started whistling and cat calling. I ignored them - but thought it was strange as there was no other female in the area - then figured they were poking fun of me. DH made a comment after we entered the restaurant about it - of course in a positive light to me. I thought that was very sweet of him - but I still think they were poking fun.

Hey you - the week is over - but you seemed to have rocked it yesterday!!!
Just out of curiosity what time do you go to bed when you up at 4ish am.???

Oh bless you for laughing at the pix - you totally only gonna look better!!!!!!!

Have a fab weekend!!!
