Day 1, October 31, 2006

I'm starting today -- fresh as I have joined the forums just now.

I am 5'8" and weight 175 lbs. I'm an athletic build and have a decent amount of muscles; however, I have some fat on my stomach I would like to get rid of.

Today I woke up at 8 am and ate a banana and a Gronala Bar that has chocolate chips in it. (120 Calories, Fat Cal 35, Total Fat 4g, Sat Fat 1.5g, Trans Fat 0g, Cholest 0mg, Sodium 60mg, Total Carb 20g, Fiber 1g, Sugar 9g, Protein 1g -- various vitamins, A, C)

I hope that is a good start for my breakfast. I will be going out and buying some salads with various of meat (eg. ham/chicken) in them for my lunches (as well as some wheat bread and turkey/ham slices for sandwhiches)

For dinner today, I have chicken breasts I will be cooking in the oven, with some Green beans and maybe a baked potato (with butter -_-) The chicken will probably have some BBQ sauce on it. (Water with every meal)

I don't plan on having any snacks - if I do, it'll probably be another granola bar or banana/apple.

As for my exercise, I will be running in a few moments on the treadmill - Walk for 2 minutes, then a full-fledge sprint, full incline all that jazz for a solid 45 seconds, then a walk for 2-3 minutes again. This will be repeated 5 times -- Then I will lift a few weights and call it a day at the gym.

If I feel up for it, I will even jog around my apartment complex tonight (Perhaps even tennis later today, but I am not sure).

Please feel free to PM me if you find anything wrong, or have suggesstions for me.

Sounds like a good start GG. I'm REALLY happy to hear that you ate this morning. Be sure to get that water in and have lunch too.

Have a Happy Halloween! :)

Hi GG,
Welcome to the WLF and to your diary!
Congratulations on taking the first steps necessary to reach your goals! Setting plans in action is sometimes the hardest step!

Good luck to you on this journey!

Thank you for your support. It is really helpful!

Eating lunch now, taking a break from work -- I haven't ran yet but I will be running right after eating a bit of my lunch (then will finish it probably when I get back) -- Is it better to run before or after you eat?

November 1st, 2006, Day 2:

Today I plan on having another banana for breakfast and a granola bar-- same as before yesterday for breakfast.

Lunch will be a Ham sandwhich on wheat bread, plain (okay, maybe a little mayo, not much)

Dinner, I have not decided yet - I will let you know what when I find out.

I also plan on doing my run this afternoon and lifting weights.

It is now 2:17 pm and I am eating a small bowl of chicken noodle soup after the small sandwich I had (with no mayo :)) -- The soup is 60 calories, 10 from fat. (Not entirely sure what that means, or if that's bad!)

I just returned from the gym, lifting weights and also running for a solid 20 minutes (approx 2 mile jog)

For dinner I do plan to have a toss salad with chicken and egg-slices in it. I'll also crumble up some crackers Crispers give you to add to the salad itself and, of course, go with Honey Mustard.

I do believe that's a good intake/outtake of calories today - If someone thinks differently, I'd love to know as I am a college student attempting to get back into shape ;)

And hello Ohappydaye, M2M and change4life! Thanks and I hope you all had a happy Halloween (it was originally supposed to be my birthday, but I was born early ;))

How cool, then we would've been born on the same day, I'm a Halloween baby! Happy belated birthday to you!

Way to go with passing on the mayo! Proud of ya girl! As for the salad, a fat free or reduced fat Honey Mustard would be optimal. ;) Since you asked and all. lol And are the crackers whole wheat...I'm just a stickler for whole wheat/grain. Some regular carbs every now and then is fine...I'm just insane about avoiding white bread to the extent possible.

Enjoy the rest of your day! :)
