Getting fit after baby

I just had my second baby, she is three months old. I just joined the gym again. I used to run and lift some weight prior to the baby. I now find myself out of shape and desperately needing help. I weigh 138 lbs and I am 5'4. My problem areas, I need to flatten and tighten my abs, I would like to build some muscle everywhere, especially my triceps and from the waist down basically. So if someone could recommend a workout schedule I would greatly appreciate. My main focus is building and toning my legs and rear.

Have u checked with ur doc....sometimes the stomach muscles haven't come together yet making ab exercises a little risky. Walking and bicycling are always cool...if ur breast feeding go easy, or u might reduce ur milk production.
Just start with the basics situps, pull-downs, pushups, sidcrunches, my personal favorite the ab and ad-ductor machines,
and listen to the old fashioned advice....it took you 9months to put it on...give urself at least 9 months to a yr to take it off. :D

whoops almost forgot squats...great for the buns...

I't hard for me to say.....I've always exercised so I stuck with what worked for me....
crunches 50,leg raises 3 sets of 10, push ups 10, daily
(after they get easy do more) u can do at home

at the gym 30 min of cardio for starters, lat pull downs, rows
bicep and triceps, bench press and squats, 3 sets of 10 (whatever weight by the third set u should be feeling some burn not pain) three or four days a week.

I started with this then as the "munchie boy" stopped breastfeeding (finally!) I worked my way up to more. Don't forget ur water and vitamins..

Alcdboy, missfit, jpfitness...can u guys help her out a little more?

Just had my 3rd baby 3 months ago. I'm 5'4" and now weigh 107. I'm back into my size 2 clothes. They are still a little snug but in a week or so they will be fine.

I use kettlebells to workout with. I do military presses, swings, snatches, front squats, one legged dead lift, dragon walk and clean and presses.

You could use a dumbbell and do the same type of workout. But basically I work my exercises in a circuit and sometimes add a minute of jump rope in between. That will really set your fat on fire and shape up your lower half.

I do not accept that it took 9 months to put on and it will take 9 months to take off. I do think there are certain things like flattening your abs that will take a little longer but as for losing the weight and toning up.. no way!

There are some good body weight drills you can do that will work well also. Push ups, squats, dragon walk, deadman quad raises, iso. one leg squat, pull ups (if you can do them), dips.

Always talk to your Dr. before you start a new workout program, you can email me if you would like more info
