From alpha testing to the QUERCUS 200

Sounds great! Do you have a mirror to check your form during exercises? Or does the ever supportive Mrs Q take care of things?

Thanks Mystic! I still feel like I stink at both. I know that sounds dumb since I run every day, but I struggle with making other exercise a habit. I really need to fix my strength imbalances so I don't get injured. Last night was a good effort in that direction. Now to repeat in the next few days and start making a habit.

Thanks LaMa! A few of these movements are familiar or very simple, but the rest I ask Mrs. Q.

It was Cate! I ate too few calories for teh first half of the day and figured out while shopping hungry that I had 1,200 calories left for the day and it was 7PM. So 563 calories (bar -1 square for Mrs. Q) of dark chocolate did not spoil my dinner. Eating it while really hungry after a run was awesome. Dinner was almost all vegetables and I skipped the corn tortillas and topping to stay at calories for the day.

270.6 this morning for a new low by 0.8 lb and a big drop from yesterday's 273. Not what I expected after the strength workout, but I'll take it. Less salt and more sweating I suppose. I'm ready for the 260s.

So 62.6 pounds down since the beginning of 2014 and down 78.6 pounds since joining here in Decemeber 2012.

If my blubber was a marlin I could have edged out this guy for the prize money.

Thanks Cory! Pretty good. Just a bit tight without any real pain just sitting around. I have a good tightness in my muscles from the workout. I am looking forward to the run tonight.

It's official and Cate and LaMa called it! 269.8 this morning. The short visit has begun.

I can't believe it because I woke up so sore from head to toe from the bodyweight workout. I've always gone up in weight when I do something new especially if it is enough to make me sore. Maybe this is a fluke or maybe it marks a change in how my body responds to physical stresses. Either way I will take it and work very hard today to try to leave the 270s permanently on the first try.

Thanks LJ! Mid 200s sounds rather nice, but the nerd in me feels compelled to point out that the mathematically accurate beginning of the mid 200s is 266.7 given my precision of measurement as well as an equal distribution between low, mid, and high 200s. Low would begin at 233.3. I can't help it LJ!

I give thanks to the gracious LaMa!

Thanks Cate! If you and LaMa could predict my back miraculously healing itself along with a massive financial windfall I'd appreciate it.

A bit over 2.5 miles in 30 minutes for day 56.

I was really sore from the strength workout and did the dynamic warmup before my run. I ran a nice slow pace and sweat pretty profusely which I'm guessing is because of the muscle soreness. I do feel less sore all over after the run, but I'm too sore for another workout.

I did well with food today and I'm right at 2,300. A late diner with quite a bit of sodium tonight so I may be up a bit. On the other hand I have drank a lot of water today. Likely a gallon.

Hurray! Great job on the excellent weigh in! Please pass some of that excellent weigh in over here! I'm not looking to positive for my weigh in on friday (despite being good with my diet!).

Finance isn´t my area of competence but I´m pretty sure the bodyweight exercise is going to get your back into working order (the impossible we do every day, miracles take a little longer...). And since your body isn´t used to it, don´t do more than two a week in the beginning, and maybe even only one every five days. These things take as much time as getting into running, but you´ll get there!

Finance is my area of competence so I'll see if I can help LaMa and Cate make all your dreams come true ;) Let's get to those official mid 200s soon, shall we? You're so close!

Fair enough on the mids, gives you a goal for, what, the next three days?

Welcome back to lifting, I hope your back enjoys it! I wonder if you've tried yoga? I haven't, but I hear good things. I've been thinking of finding beginner videos for my stretch nights. If I like those enough, I can consider a class.

Thanks Mystic! I will see what I can do.

Thanks LaMa! Solid advice and I am easing into it. I had plan to do it yesterday, but I knew that it was too soon with the level of soreness and tiredness I had after running. Maybe tonight. The hip feels better from just the once a week for 2 weeks that I have managed so that is great. I also did some hip and glute weight machine exercises earlier in the week and I want to repeat those too. Keeping it to slightly pushing with no hurry on progress or frequency.

Oaks I am truly grateful that you would offer a direct monetary transfer to me and I graciously accept. As a show of appreciation I will even accept a check saving you the hassle of a wire transfer. Gold bullion if you prefer. It's really up to you.

I wish LJ! The scale ticked up to 270.2 this morning so I haven't stayed in the 260s on the first go round, but I should be there to stay directly. Then on to the mid 200s. I do yoga (not lately) and enjoy it, I think you will find that although it is great for stretching and loosening up it does a lot more. I use free videos from a young lady in Austin and Oaks has used her videos as well. She has complete beginner videos to advanced. I'm sure the Texas accent will be amusing for you. Also I am doing bodyweight strength stuff with a little machine weight stuff targeting specific places. My body isn't ready for "normal" lifting and I don't know that it ever will be. I've been told specifically not to deadlift or squat.

So like I mentioned 270.2 this morning. No big deal, but I was hopeful to stay in the 260s and get a better read this morning, but I did everything right and will do so again so it is just a matter of time. I am planning an easy recovery run of just a mile this evening and I will see about yoga or bodyweight stuff afterwards.
