From alpha testing to the QUERCUS 200

I am super pleased to be an inspiration for you. I'm excited to see you succeed! Thank you very much!

This year it is November 27, 2014. The US Thanksgiving is on the 4th Thursday in November so the date changes each year. Silly Americans with their weird measurement system and shifting holidays.

Applause for you, Q. 40 pounds dropped is great, the 11.6 pounds dropped since the 1st of October is fantastic. The rate will slow down some, obviously, but that's a great launch speed so to speak.

At my worst, I figured I could probably top out at around 6,000 calories in a day before I would be too sick to eat any more. So even if you went completely nuts on Thanksgiving and Christmas, it would only take about a week to neutralize the damage you did on both days. So enjoy yourself in a relatively responsible manner and you'll be fine.

Thanks Vee! I like launch speed. I don't think I could eat my 2,300 in 1 sitting without feeling awful. I pledge to not eat a single bite of anything that I don't love.

Pushed pretty hard tonight in my final preparation for the bitch slapping I'm giving tomorrow's weigh in. I really want -42 and I'm doing my part to make it happen.

Fingers crossed, but whatever that scale says on single occasions: you´re doing great! I think the highest I´ve ever gone in a sitting was 200 g of chips and 600 g of chocolate, which is probably about 4000 kcal. So glad that´s a long time ago :O

Thanks LaMa! I don't even want to think of what I have done in the past calorie wise. Well more than 4,000 for sure. I'm just not equipped for a massive pig out anymore. Eating a mostly vegan bread free diet I just can't do a lot of bread, cheese, and meat which is what Thanksgiving dinner is at my parents.

290.8 this morning -42.4 this year, -13.4 pounds so far this month, -3 this week.

I have reached the 1 lb/week average for 2014.

58.4 pounds lost and 0.6 lb/week since my HW on 12/7/2012.

It's 40 weeks until my 40th birthday (137 weeks since HW). If I average 2/lb/week until then I will surpass 1lb/week for my entire weightloss journey. That includes large swaths of being MIA and regaining weight so that would be amazing. I'm not making it a goal, but it is something I will keep in mind. For that matter 2.3 lb/week and my 40th would be in onderland.

My 40th is just a big age milestone and this healthy body is a lifelong project.

So I am pleased to hit my 1lb/week goal and now on to the 280's, class 1 obesity (280), the 270's, and 10% lost from 304.2 (274).

Congratulations on the milestone, that is such an awesome accomplishment! I´m really curious to see your 40th-birthday analysis :)

Thanks Jen! We are both doing well.

Thanks LaMa! I can't say I'm in a hurry to hit 40, but the weightloss part will be awesome.

291.4 this morning. A .6 pound uptick today. That's the first time this month that it's gone in the wrong direction. I ate more sodium and didn't drink enough water yesterday. 2,300 calories though, so it's just a blip.

Thanks Maganda!

Here's a graph of my actual and predicted weightloss. This is based on MrVee's weightloss prediction model. It is a bit steeper than the . I imagine this will level out as my loss rate slows. Both models say that I should hit my weightloss goal before my 40th if I keep doing what I'm doing.

My guess is that reality will either require a calorie reduction or exercise increase or that 200 will take longer than predicted. The only way to find out for sure is to stay on track for the next 277 days or at least almost all of them.

I'll post an updated graph at the end of the month.

Quercus - thats really helpful graph! How did you get it? I know you can reach your goal before your 40th. Im very positive that you can make it. And because of that it makes me think to set a goal to on my next year's birthday! :) i hope u had a good sunday weekend! :hurray:

Nice graph. I'm a terrible influence.

I was a month a half away from my 41st birthday when I started, so you're still way ahead of me.

Great work on this week's weigh in. As for how the weight loss will proceed, it was my experience that odd things started to happen: while the calorie burn obviously slows down as the pounds go, and there's some metabolic effect that comes with long term calorie deficits, in my case a lot of that got canceled out I believe because as the weight went and I got in better shape, I became much more comfortable with increased levels of physical exertion. I also became generally more active even when not working out. When you give yourself this gift, you start itching to put it to use: volunteer to help friends move, etc.

Mine finally started to significantly flatten out right after I dropped below 200.

Maganda: It's a graph that I made with Open Office Calc from MrVee's Excel spreadsheet. The next graphs will be a bit different as Calc didn't like the spreadsheet and crashed instead of saving it. I will reenter all of my data and make new graphs using Office Excel from this point forward. Thank you!

Vee thanks again for the spreadsheet. I have increased my activity quite a bit overall already. Until I reach my goal, running is a steady increase of intensity that should help keep fatloss from flattening out too quickly.

I will run the NIH model over time and based on my current weight the calorie need may decrease. Also I can adjust my calories if the weight stops changing or slows unduly.

290.6 for a new low this morning.

My allergies are killing me after working in the field yesterday. I skipped my Monday run for the first time in a long time, but my allergies mess with my asthma so breathing was a problem. It still is. I feel sick this morning, but I'm hoping the claratin on top of last night's benadryl and zyrtec will help. I'll run tonight if possible. I at least did a lot of walking yesterday > 2 miles with half on the road and the other half through pretty rough hilly terrain with climbing in and out of stream beds, climbing over downed trees, and crossing fences.

Q, sorry to hear about the asthma/allergies. Is there something else you can do? Stairclimbing in an office/apartment building, maybe? Or some weights for an anaerobic workout?

Thanks LJ! I can run indoors. My allergies bother me indoors and out. I should be good tonight though. The claritin is helping.

Allergies can be a pain. Like a lot of various niggling health concerns, they've slowed to a crawl since I've dropped the weight. The active job should help you quite a bit.

I too have joined the Christmas challenge. Looks like I won't be traveling for x-mas this year, so this year's Christmas involves sunglasses and geckos.

Hey Quercus, that's an interesting graph, I've never thought about compiling my weight data in that format - good idea! I'm used to Excel and I think I will follow suit in visualizing my weight that way as well.

Allergies can be roughhh, although my Flonase has been working magic since I've been consistently shooting it up my noise. One of the few substances worth consistently snorting lol.

I look forward to that Vee! Geico commercials?

I never plan ahead enough for the Flonase Ryan. I go back and forth between tracking obsessively and not at all. Right now I'm tracking calories and weight, but I just post my running here.

288.2 this morning. -45 for the year and -16 for the month. -2.6 for the week so far. 1.1 lbs/week for the year.
