Hiya, Im 17, from ireland.
in my final year at secondary school, thank god! the exams are making it torture but otherwise its grand.

i've always felt chubby and overweight ever since i can remember. when i look back at pictures though, there were times when i was both skinny and chubby, but i never saw myself as thin or slim. i always felt fat when i was little (my brother may be partially to blame for that ha) but now i know im not overweight (not far off either). However, im also not comfortable being this size. i want to see my graduation pictures and smile, and go to college feeling confident.

so here i am, back again after a year of absense, to slim down, tone up and feel better :)

im currently 150.2lb. Was 161lb but lost 20lb last year when i dieted, Put up weight since then though! I want to be 135lb sooooon!!
its going to be hard to do exercise when i barely have time for myself because of my upcoming final exams in june! so for now my weight loss will prob be all calorie reduction based!

my days will basically consist of getting up at 7a.m., going to school, getting home at 4.40p.m., starting study at 5.30/6.00p.m, finishing at around 10p.m., shower, tv, sleep etc untill about 12/1a.m. then i'll start all over again. even my saturdays and sundays[!] will revolve aroung study and grinds.

so from now untill mid-june ( :) ) my life will kinda suck, ha! but when my exams finish on that date i will be free and skinny enough to enjoy my summer!! :D

If you have any tips or advice just let me know. I should be posting updates regularly!

Hey, looking forward to your updates! :) Way to go on losing those 20lbs before thats great! We have the same goal weight, thats cool, I hope we can both get there :D
 
Hey thank you.. I really hope u reach your goal.. Ive a feeling im not going to lose much this time :( dont have the same motivation, but i really hate my size!

And the worst part.. Mom made chips and chicken and i had a small plate so im guessin around 500-700 cals
total- 1210-1410 am not impressed with my self!

Even worse, i actually weighed myself and im 149lb !!!!!!!
Really need to get my act together!!!
 
Hey :D You seem to have a reasonable goal there, and looks like your doing ok. 1210-1410 cals isnt TOO bad, yeah it could be better. Maybe try adding fruit into your diet? May stop you snacking on other stuff then, its hard to do that though, trust me I know :banghead:
 
i know it could be better...and it will be from now on :) i hope :)
i usually eat pineapple, oranges or apples at lunch at skul so i should be good from tomorrow on... :)
 
Keep up the good work and don't hesitate to get tough with the food choices. I'm not one to brag though, I've been eating clean for oh about two weeks now!! But that's what I'm trying to do.
 
This time round its so hard to be tough!
Last time i was so strict, ran everyday, controlled my food and lost 20 lbs this! time i feel like i cant control myself :( dont have time to do exercise with school and study!

Seriously, would love some tips tospeed up weight lose :) ha

Been up since 7 this morn and its 8.45pm now.. I only had 2 and a half hours sleep last night... My sleeping patterbs are so messed up at the mo!

breaky: 2 table spoons of coco pops and a lil bit of milk -65cals
Lunch: 6 rice cakes- 122cals
Dinner: a bowl of chicken curry, 2small naan breads 500/600
Snack: 50grms crunchy nut cereal no milk- 200cals
Total: 987cals
 
Anyone want to estimate my homemade curry calories?
I had about one cup of cooked white :eek: rice and some chicken from the roast chicken my mom made and the just curry sauce... Nothing else was in it :)
Thanks if u can do it, i put it to about 400cals

Im pretty disapointed at my lack of restraint at the moment!
Plus the fact that im getting no excercise isnt great :(

I would workout if i wasn so busy, i get up at 7 each morning, go to skul,come home around 4.30/5.. Have dinner, start study about 5.30/6.00 until 9/10 then chill for an hour or two and go to bed!
Not the most exciting :/ but i have to do it!
The biggest problem is that while im studying i tend to drink tea and sometimes i grab a few crunchy nuts to nibble on, which only end up being unnecesary calories!

Maybe someday soon ill find the time and restraint to lose my flab..heres wishing anyway :)

Was good most of theday.
Got up at 7 but didn eat till half 2 and only had 1and a half ricecakes, then had dinner at 6 and nibbled on some crunchy nuts :)

3fizzy cola bottles - 135
60grms Crunchy nut- 238
Total- 966
 
I dont eat from 7 till half four and then suddenly i eat like a pig! Not that i was starvin myself i just honestly was not hungry in skul...
Today

A WHOLE bag of micro popcorn- 360 :(
brown rice with some chicken breast (75gms altogether so not sure what cals to put down ) - 75gms cooked rice is 84cals and maybe about 50cals for the chicken, even tho its included in the 75grms- 134cals
total-914cals(?)

Will prob nibble on some crunchy nut in awhile, but so stuffed from popcorn now!
 
Ohhh its friday! and while i should be totally excited for the weekend, i have classes in the morning.. yes thats right, i have revision classes on a saturday! :(
plus i have so much school stuff to catch up on befor my mock exams start, im not going to have a minute to breathe!!

however, i will not see the negatives of it all. in a few months i will be done with school, uniforms and nutcase teachers for good! :D
and by then ill be looking, hot and skinny, may even wear a bikini [well there is a first time for everything ;) ] and ill be able to chill untill college begins.
which, btw, i am seriously looking forward to! and which will be so much more awesome if i look HOT for it :) ( i know i sound egotistical and vain or whatnot, tbh im not normally, but why shouldn i feel good about myself :))

total - 882..so far... :)

Seriously..over 250 cals for hotchoc when i was out!!!
 
Wasnt a great day today either.. Wkend just messes up my eating! :(

Ate 2 bowls of chicken curry..which is about 120gram(when uncooked) of brown rice and 1.5 breasts of chicken... Im guessing is about 150-200 for tye rice and about 150-200 for the chicken so-400-ish
Had about 90grams(?) of crunchy nut- 363?

I know i had said i was 149 but honestly i was 150.2 &just too embarrased to admit id gone back into the 150s :/
Ridiculous?..ya i know!.. But thats just me!

Anyway so had my weighin this morn, a little disappointed, but its only wk 1 :)
Lost.... 3.4 lbs
Currently...146.8

Hope i can keep it up :)
 
your weight is down, well done

you seen to enjoy sweets like your cola bottles, you might want to try to substitute in some sort of fruit snack which would be a little healthier (my teenage son likes to take dried apple to school). You also seem to be lacking in veg, If you increase your veg intake it will improve the amount of fibre your getting which helps make you feel full.

If you can find time for some exercise, even if it is just a 30 min walk every couple of days it will help with your weight loss and will help you de stress while your getting ready for your final exams.

Just read your diary and wanted to say hi and good job so far. Even though I am much older now, i remember my school days (actually i am still in school as a teacher. My students are about your age...yes i am a nutcase teacher :p)...i know it's hard with mock exams just around the corner but maybe planning a schedule where u get 20 mins of exercise 2-3 days may help. Also, I have found that while exercise is great for weight loss, diet is THE main part of the process...so it's good that you are keeping track of calories etc. Don't worry too much about the exercise for now, after exams you will have plenty of time to up your exercise routine. Also, i see you eat alot of chicken curry (so do i..except we call it curry chicken)..well when we make curry we add oil to it...so u may need to factor that into your calorie count. So typically this is my calculation for curry.

curry sauce (1/2 cup): 40 calories
chicken (4 ounces): 184 calories
rice (3/4 cup of white rice): 242
oil: (1 tsp): 40

Grand total:506

Hope it helps...and good luck..i am sure you will rocking your new bod soon enough..just take it one day at a time....

Honestly, i wouldn normally eat cola bottles but i think im subbing them for choco and cos i dont eat much at school i tend to buy some when i get off the bus for study :eek:.. However i will attempt to quit them and all their yumminess!! :)

I am Truly the worst veggie eater, i mean it.. I do Not eat veg! :( i should but i just dont like it, makes me sick :( nt very healthy is it? Ha i do infact enjoy fruit though so i may samtart gobbling that. Although my fruit intake is restricted because acidic fruits agrivate my hiatal hernia and reflux!

I was an excercise addict last time i started dieting, but now i just havent the time..eg, today-up at 7,school,home at 4.40, started study/hw at 5.30, finished at 10.30, chilled for an hour playing cards with my dad and am now in bed :/

Yup, my schedule sucks, but my mocks are in 3 wks so its my primary goal to focus on them for now!
Thank you for the support and advice.. Will try my hardest to incorporate fruit and excercise, but i am currently weak willed :eek:

Whoop ! Thank you! I love getting support, it is such a good motivator to keep me headin in the right weight loss direction! :)

And if i am honest you do not come across at all like the nutcase teachers i deal with ha.. U seem seriously sound :)
My mocks are in3 wks, havent done any worthwhile study untill tonight so dreading them... Dont expect to do nearly aswell as my xmas (430) but at least if i try my best ill be alright :)

I know i should exercise but i really dont have the time, have school all day, home at 4.40, start study at 5.30/6 finish 10/11, see my family and sleep( which is what i should be doing now :eek: ). Even my weekends consist of study and school :( i must admit it can be very daunting!!
I will however take up exercise again after my exams! :D

Thanks a mill for posting up the curry cals! They are defo helpful.! I dont ever use oil on my chicken, unless i fry it with one cal spray and i do my best to eat only brown rice ( which i now love 100times more than i ever liked white ha). Tend to cook 60grms of that but i keep throwing away te packaging before i read the nutri info :s. Yup, im on of those people who would only think to read it after it was unter ten layers of other rubbish ha!
I basically live of rice and chicken.. I mean seriously, chicken is THE nicest food out there, especially when u cook it yourself :) and thankfully its got protein, yay me :)

I really should start eating other healthy stuff but i never know what cos i am incredibly fussy :eek:

Hey, good luck with your goals.

I'm a teacher too (of younger children but they still take some pretty stiff exams) so I see what you're going through. I think you're right to put your work ahead of exercise for now - you'll always have time to work out in the future when you've got your great results and you're eating a small enough amount (I know you're unimpressed with yourself but it IS small) to lose weight without exercise anyway.
