Form checks: power cleans/1 arm pushups

power clean look pretty decent, good triple extension. I tend to catch in a 1/4 squat in the power cleans, but I've seen a lot of people catch in an a straight standing position before.

I have the same issue when I do 1-arm push-ups. The only thing that I may notice is that my left tricep seems to be stonger than the right, and this helps out tremendously in that exercise.

wierd thing is, my right tricep is bigger than the left(idk if that means stronger though). why would it be bigger if it wasnt stronger?
maybe its just the shoulder.
thanks for the input. i hope 1 hand pushs will help balance my left/right

It may be something to do with your right hand side being more stable than your left. Ie. Your holding yourself in postition more easily allowing you to complete reps more easily.

Side view on the PC looks good. I think you dip a bit low on the jerk before you drive up though. You just barely dip down. Look at this:
I know competition lifts aren't suppose to make for technique instruction, but the low dip is there in competition too, because you get up more weight with a low dip. I know it seems unlogical, but that's just the way it is :p Try it and you'll see.

Also, the bar should land on the shoulders at the same time your feet hits the ground. You're not quick enough. BAM! and there it is. The way you do it you have already landed with your feet and you're waiting for the bar. The bar is also falling down on your shoulders, there shouldn't be any lee way here, use more weight :D
It seems as if your arms bend a bit eary too, remember: "when the elbows bend, the power ends." At the very end of triple extension the elbows should bend, not before.

Are you hitting the bar with your hips at the end of the triple extension? It helped me A LOT when I got the hang of that. Smack your hips into that bar and it will send it skyrocketing!

As for one armed pushups they look good. They are hard so form won't be perfect, you won't keep your entire body still, that's just the way it is. Maybe when you can do like 10 in one go that starts to become an issue, but for now, just get the chest to the floor and push the hell up!

Nice work! Keep it up, man!
You also might wanna PM Evo or Goergen1 for some input, they know a lot more about oly lifting than I do.

hmmm great advice bro. it all sounds good.
so dip more, and try to smack the bar with my hips lol. do you actually mean hit it with my hips so i get the momentum or is it just a thing to try to do so i get better speed?

and use more weight so the bar hits when my feet land? or do i have to fix something like be faster o_O i wont lie i was kinda scared or the bar landing really hard on my shoulders. i gotta get rid of that

I like the video. The part where you are doing the one arm push ups looks like something out of a movie(especially with the grunting). whats the song called? how do you do your pushups? I mean where do you place your hand when you do the push up? thats the problem Im having when I try them. I seem to fall to the side.

thanks lol and i think i just put my hand a little bit outside my shouulder width and make sure you dont go down too fast. i didnt even know i could do 1 arm pushups until i tried. i think it requires strong shoulders and triceps.

oh and the song is called
clubbed to death

I mean less dip on the jerk, the initial dip when you are about to shoot the weight up, yours is a bit too low IMO. And you actually hit the bar with your hips to send the bar on it's way. It works wonders :p

the bar should land on the shoulders when the feet hit the ground, it's just a thing about timing. You can use more weight as you throw the weight higher up than your shoulders are, so it has to go down to land on your shoulders, your shoulders should just barely sneak under the bar to rack it.

It does work wonders until u start getting above 225lbs lol. Then ur hips come away bruised. But your gonna need to start getting lower and lower as the weight gets higher(this is where front squats and stability will do wonders).
If i can ill post some vid of me doing it. Im not blowing my own horn but i have pretty good tech.

I got above 225 lbs and I didn't really have any problems with my hips. Maybe a little, but if you do, you just gotta suck it up, if you get more weight up there by doing it than by not doing it, then you just suck it up and hit it with the hips.

And you should post some vids. There aren't enough people on here posting vids of their oly lifting :(

Hahahaha! i kno, im not being a girl about the hip bruises lol I actually like that feeling where you smash it off you hips then feel that big catch. Thats how i can do it every week. Friday is my SNatch and Power Clean day. ill get some vid of them
