for the past 3 or 4 days ive been working my forearms with 12lbs wristcurls and those hand squeeze things. I work them for about 15-20 a mins day. Should i give them a rest? I heard you need to train your forearms hard for growth? any advice helps
i usually do forearms once a week because if you think about it they're working in almost every other exercise,i hit them hard with hammer curls, reverse barbell curls, and overload them hardcore with forearms curls (ican forearm curl [rolls down to finger tips] more than i can bicep curl)
there is no reason to train your forearms. for there size they are some of the strongest muscles in your body. Put your time and effort into large muscle groups instead.
I train my forearms because all my uncles beat me in arm wrestles every christmas yet i work out and they don't...so i wanna be able to slam to the table this year
then your working the wrong muscles. You should be working your shoulders, biceps and triceps.
if your loosing and the back of your hand in near the table you need bicep strength, if your winning you need tricep strength. your shoulder muscle stabalize the whole thing.
dont you think it would be better to have an allround nice body, rather than 1 big arm to win a stupid anual arm wrestle.
not true at all...I've read professional arm wrestling sites that it's way more in the forearm than anything else, and that depending on what ur trying to do it will use a different part of you wrist flexors/extenders....it actually has barely anythign to do with ur triceps or any other muscle really...
plus it's not like i go to the gym and work my forearms and leave...i have an all around nice body i just incorporate my forearms also for that reason
farmers walk is a good forearm exersice.
but u know, if u want to be a good armwresteler, its not all strenght, its alot of technique, get your friends to armwrestle with you often and you will improve
