foods that give you tons of energy

wassup

Still workin on getting big. But somedays I feel i cant lift da weights I want to, and some days I can. Dis made me think - eating. So here's my question

What natural foods can you eat before a workout to give you instant and tons of energy? I'm thinking oranges, bananas, apples, brocoli, potatos?

But maybe I'm just looking for a quick fix. Should I be eating such high energy foods throughout da day, hours before da workout? for example, eat dat special energy food about an hour before I work out? Or am I lookin to be eating dis food so far back as breakfast?

I'm not too sure on energy things. but i do know that drinking a cup of coffee before a marthon is great. Also, it has been proven that eating an apple is more efficient than coffee at waking people up in the morning.

My guess is that you are not resting enough. I usually eat the after a workout so my muscles have nutrients to build.

ok you mean im not sleeping enough, or im not giving my muscles enough time to regenerate? Ill try to increase both.

I heard that caffiene hinders muscular growth, especially when taken with creatine. What you have is probably a case of overtraining and/or supplement-use. If you start feeling fatigue when you didn't before, that's a sign of overtraining and it's serious business. If you overtrain, you lose muscle mass at a constant rate the work you put in before to build that muscle will go to waste, plus you'll be wasting time eating away at your muscle. Try to cut back to twice a week, doing the isolated exercises with absolutely correct form, using weights that won't cause you to jerk around. Using slightly less weight, but at higher time-under-tension, will totally make you sore the next day. Special energy food before you workout? I don't understand...What you do need before you workout is carbs/electrolytes so I'd recommend eating a few oranges. Immediately after your workout I suggest taking a protien shake + creatine. That will speed up your recovery and give you the energy you want.

Caffeine probably does hinder muscle growth but i'm not sure. I do know that it gives an extra addrenaline rush during a race. That is very useful when you run +3 miles.

I wouldn't take creatine unless if you really need it. First of all, if you workout twice a week, there is no need to speed up your recovery because you won't workout for a while. Protein is very good, it helps to build the muscle fibers so you can lift more the next time, but don't overdo it.

when you are taking creatine you need to have a high water intake (so i thought) therefore if you take caffiene at the same time you are depleting the water.... so i dont think its the best combo to have... especially if you body gets used to using caffiene. then creatine is not the way to go with caffiene... for you doing marathons foods containing creatine would be the best bet (lean ground beef) hope this makes a little sense lol

I Use Caffeine and I seem to be doing well. I mean I can see the diffrence....... but that was back when I worked out everyday, Now that I got a job I work out whenever I have that "workout mood" if you know what I mean.

i dont think theres any reason why caffiene would hurt muscle mass...it may possibly inhibit creatine absorbtion (experts disagree on this one), which may lessen its effects, but it shouldnt hurt the mass you have at the time.

also, creatine will not help you have more endurance for aerobic activity.

I like sugar!
