Goal: To hit New York City 16 lbs lighter on October 31st.

I used to post on here last year, then got busy and didn't and guess what, the weight did not come off as fast. So I'm back and more determined then ever. 16lbs down and 16lbs to go to hit my mini goal. Total weight loss goal is aroung 26lbs, but I'm also set on toning up and getting healthy.

Things I'm going to do to get to the mini goal:
1. 64 ounces of water every day
2. weights for arms 3 days a week
3. Spinning classes 2 days a week
4. playstation kinetic exercise game -- 8 week (I think) program
5. abs 4 days a week
6. Walking, biking, aerobics to fill in the other days
7. One day off a week
8. Healthy diet (try to cut back on the starches, they are the only thing that kills me)

Sounds crazy, but I'm already doing the weights and spinning and the kinetic game is not too time consuming (plus it is fun)..I've slacked the last two weeks, but I need to recommit myself to these things and then add on the water, abs and walk/bike/aerobics.

Wish me luck!

thanks dariqueen -- the kinetic game is great..there is a camera that hooks up to the playstation (called an eyetoy) and basically what happens is that you see yourself on the tv screen and there are a number of different exercise "games" you can play. For example, in one game there is a wall that you have to keep punching to destroy. So you are actually doing the physical movement to play the games.

It gets me sweating as much as spinning classes do and NOTHING else does that for me. Even my 10 year old niece was out of breath after playing a few of the games.

You can play one game at a time or you can do an 8 week program where they track your progress and also increase difficulty level and the amount you do over time.

I would recommend it.

Another game for any playstation fans out there is Yourself fitness..I don't like it as much, too many lunges. Basically it is like a personal trainer who tracks your progress and gives you exercises to do.

OK so I did good today so far. Homemade soup for lunch (the most awesome roasted red and yellow pepper soup ever might I add!), some carrots and then a salad for dinner -- I splurged a little on the salad with some artichoke hearts, blue cheese and goddess dressing...mmmm good! Who says you can't eat good foods and loose weight?

Since I'm looking at this as more of a lifestyle change rather then a "diet" I'm trying to include things I really like, but just watch the servings. I think this is why I haven't gained anything back...now to step it up a notch and loose the next 16.

This weekend is going to be tough. I have a friend coming down to visit and we will probably be eating out a lot. I'm going to try to limit the eating out to one meal a day and then maybe cook together for the rest of the meals. As for eating out...well I'll just have to understand that I don't need to get EVERYTHING I like...one thing, no appetizers and I'll try to stick to the healthy things. Sometimes it's a little hard because I am a vegetarian and therefore usually don't have a lot of choice when it comes to menus.
