First time being serious about loosing the rest of my weight

So let me start off by saying I'm 18, 5' 8" and 150 pounds. I have a large frame, which makes me look way fatter than I am.

When I was 16, I was 5' 6" and 190 pounds, so I guess I've come a ways.. Really though, I spent most of the first 6 months of 2008 just slightly cutting back on the fast food and portions. I use to be a very skinny child, I had to be given nutrients shakes, as I would eat so rarely. Around the age of 11 I took a medicine that was supposed to help with migraines, but really just made me gain tons and tons of weight, and just killed my metabolism. This has always made it hard for me to try and loose weight. But, this is in the past and all it is, is a minor road block in getting off the rest of this weight.

So now, I want to get this flab off me, and maybe some light toning of muscles. I'm just desperate to get a good body. I've wanted to get these last few pounds off for at least a year. But now I've realized I'm really motivated for the first time to do this. I'm thinking this time it will work, because maybe I can get some support here.

So my plan is to first monitor my caloric intake. I essentially eat mostly fast food, which will need to be the first thing to go.

I want to attempt something resembling a HIIT session on the treadmill in my apartment complex. I'm going to try and eat less fatty foods, and just generally eat healthier.

In my apartment we have an elliptical and treadmill as well as a set of free weights. I think I have the cardio covered with the HITT, but can someone give me some ideas on building a weight program, and other exercises (crunches etc) that can help? What about supplements?

Reading this forum has really given me some hope that maybe I might finally be able to loose this weight with support from the people here. Thanks for your time, everybody

You might want to look into the Zone Diet. It's not really a "diet" in the sense that you have to eat less food, in fact you get to eat more food than you probably do now.

I have been more or less following it, and I have been losing weight like on a good, steady basis. I had to drag the clothes out of my closet that have been stored there unused for 12 years just to have something that fits me, and guess what? None of the stuff is in fashion anymore... Sigh.
