First of May – My New Way

Greetings!

My weight has never been higher (Not even when pregnant!) and I have gained at least 10 kilos since last summer.
What is the weight then? – Staggering 149 kilos :( I have been struck with intolerances to gluten, dairy and oats a couple of years ago, amazingly I just keep eating my self heavier and heavier, I stick to my diet though, I am just very good at making new recipes and eating calorie-rich hummus.

How will I do it? I am thinking 1500 calories a day for a start and I have bought a home workout aerobics DVD with a 60 minutes programme. I also bike about 10 kilometres a day (a bike is my only mean of transportation) and I will begin to swim again as much as possible.
I am a single mother of three children (all kindergarten age) so it will not be easy to be exercising out of the house every day.

My motivation is high, who wants to be the fattest mother; my oldest child starts school this autumn

I am done being fat! :D

Love Clarissa

Sounds like a good plan Clarissa! Keep us updated. This is the best place for support and motivation!

Thank you so much!
Today:
1500 calories diet
5 km walking
5 km biking

Went grocery shopping and bought a bunch of low calorie foods like mushrooms, cucumber, honey melon, zucchini and a low fat chunk of turkey.
Now it's bedtime.

Thank you Trusylver!

Today I have a headache; well it was already there at bedtime. I suspect to little water yesterday and the fact that sugar is off limits are the culprits. I can fight them!

Day began nicely, with a vegan meal and a small bike ride, 4 km. Later today I am going hiking for two hours. :)

Great start :)

A huge part of the challenge is what you eat. I've lost 16lbs in the last four weeks (started April 2nd) purely by changing my meals to good ones, drinking no calories and only snacking on fruit.

I've started jogging since yesterday now to ramp up the efforts but with patience it can all be done!

Best of luck!

That sounds good blues, I am impressed with the jogging!! :D Best of luck to you too.

I have one dairy free latté a day and mostly 1-2 mugs of herbal tea. The rest has to be water I guess. I have lost interest in bread and pasta since I became intolerant to gluten, though I make buckwheat bread which reminds me of rye bread for lunch.

I try to focus on getting proteins enough and fill the stomach with vegetables. I get a low and unstable blood sugar level easily, if I do not have some low glycemic at every meal and snacks such as a little chicken or beans
.
However I have discovered that exercise help tremendously on raising and stabilizing my blood sugar level.

Hey Clarissa,
Welcome to the forum. Good luck with the journey to slimmer you! :)
It sounds like you have a solid plan!

Hello Justina thank you :)
¨
Wauw it was a really good hike - a fast pace and many hills and slopes 3 hours!! The road trip ended just out side the supermarket 10 minutes to dinner time. Did I enter to by something for my hungry stomach? -NO not even a banana! I just fetched my bike and went home and straight into the kitchen starting cooking (vegetable soup and steamed turkey)

This thread and you wonderful people are very useful to keep me on the track :hurray:

Hi Clarissa and welcome :) , yay another person who uses kgs instead of pounds lol
Sounds like you have made an awesome start, and good job avoiding temptation at the supermarket! (not always easy!!)

Hi Kiwi-gal :)
I thought about switching from kilos to pounds, but I don't really relate to pounds, but kilos speak to me. He-he

I am used to having to let 95 % be on the shelf in the supermarket due to my gluten- and dairy intolerances -but yes I have found the 5 sugar rich items they sell that I can eat. :D:blush5: Perhaps that is just en advantage, I always watch everyone else have ice cream and cake - now I "just" have to count calories and not eat marshmallows or meringue when they do.

Still have headaches and I skipped the one hour morning walk I had planned and stayed in bed a bit longer. I regret that now, I should have gotten up anyway...

I have just made my breakfast it is almost 10 o'clock and I am having 1 banana, 1 tomato, 1 carrot, 1 piece of cucumber, 1 teaspoon olive oil, boiled turkey (200 calories) and a vegan latté (50 calories) equals 400 calories. Never had banana and turkey at the same time ha-ha.

Today is rather busy and I plan to get pictures taken and then compare when I have lost perhaps 20-25 kg. Hope I find time and energy for at least 5 km of walking.

I look forward to reading the other dairies as soon as possible :D

2 km biking and no more, busy day and now I am way to tired, besides the morning starts early. Had 1300 calories, felt bad about the non existing exercise so I only had half a dinner.

Still having a headache, but it comes and goes and it's wearing off.

Got up at 6 am and walked 2 km on the beach (that was so hard!) and 2 km in the forest. And now I am doing the laundry and some cleaning.
I feel so energitic :D
weight this morning before the walk said 145,7.
I have had stomach aches all morning since I got home again. Due to exercise and diet I assume.

Found you at last Clarissa. Just wanted to say thank you for all the motivation you have given me

Just biked 10 km and bought a large pile of vegetables. I aim to relax and enjoy the rest of the day on the couch!

Hi Windmill fortunately it's almost summer time, the best time for outdoor activities :D

Yesterday I had a loooot of sushi, did not exceed the 1500 calories, just saved the calories for dinner time. So good :D

Today I have been walking 10 km, 3 of them was on the beach and I spent 10 minutes trying to climb a very steep slope. Feet are quite sore, my shoes are almost worn down and the sand gnawed.

Had a bad morning, it took hours to wait for my upset stomach was calm enough to leave the house.

Yesterday I had 1300 calories in total. The upset stomach is really taking away my appetite. Speaking of the stomach today is much better, only two visits to the can, however I feel something still is up in there.

Today I have been biking 4 km and will soon be doing 6 km more. It is a busy week and I fear I will be unable to do much of exercising. But the most important thing right now is probably sticking with my diet and get the stomach happy again.

Have done some reading about Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) and do not think it is wise to eat less than 1500 cals a day, the darn thing says I need 2100. That seems like a lot..

Bought a computer for the bike today, it will calculate the distance so I don't have to keep track myself.
Walked through the door this afternoon caring 6 bags and 3 tired children too.
Felt tired and in need of a refreshment ...had to carry on unpacking things, washing the lunch boxes, removing al the sand from the children and so on. Suddenly I realized I wasn't tired anymore - and I have been energetic since. LOVE THIS NEW WAY!!
Had 1500 cals and my fear of being hungry has gone since I easily can manage on 1500.
