Finding the Inner Me - Underneath all the Blob!
Welcome to my Diary. I'm an 18 year old female student who is stubborn and determined to make something of my life. I'm not trying very hard as of yet, but that is about to change..
1. What is your current height and weight?
My current height (and hopefully I'll get taller, but I doubt that!) is 5 foot 5 inches, a measly 65 inches high. I weigh 148 pounds. This makes my BMI 24.6, only just below the word I've been trying to escape from since I was 10, Overweight.
2. If you were at an ideal weight now, what would that weight be?
I would love to be my ultimate goal weight of 125lbs. I have 23 pounds to lose until I reach that amazing number, and that is roughly 23 weeks, depending if I stick to one pound a week or not. I will definitely give it a go! I control my weight, nobody else. Nobody can do it for me, this is something I have to do on my own, and if I don't.. then it could lead to health problems later on in life, and it will lead to depression. Or beyond.
3. At what weight would you like to be at four months from now?
In four months from now that will be the 19th of May and in that time I could lose 16lbs, which would make me 132lbs. I would like to be at least 135lbs in four months time.
4. Why do you want to lose weight?
I feel that if I was slimmer and healthier, I would feel more confident to find myself a great job, join in on social events and make friends, and find that one person who I'm meant to be with. Unfortunately I don't think it's the person I'm with (on a break at the moment..) right now.
5. Do you want to lose weight for a specific life event such as wedding or reunion? If so, when is that event?
Last time I was here was April and I said I wanted to look good for my 18th birthday. I didn't, and this time I'm 19. My birthday is in August, and if all goes to plan I would have been at my ultimate goal of 125lbs in early July, which is just in time for my birthday celebrations.
6. What obstacles could get between you and your weight loss goals?
Yummy foods, high calories and lazy days.
7. Why do you think that you now have a weight problem?
My parents overfed me? Nah. I can't blame them. I can't blame anyone. I started over eating when my grandparents died and I became quiet and bullied at school. I was taken out of school by my mother and homeschooled (didn't go so well, hence me being a dumb arse). I then spend around four years of my life in my bedroom on the computer, rarely going out and having no friends. I fell "in love" with someone on the computer who then somehow (please don't ask me how, I still ask myself) got me into self harm. I went to college at 16 and met my first boyfriend David (we're together still but on a break). I was a chubb. I went from 165lbs to 140lbs and over the last christmas I gained 8lbs. Our relationship has always been ruined from the beginning cause of my lack of social skills, my lack of knowledge about how people work and how to act around people, and of course my confidence due to my weight and looks.
8. What lifestyle changes do you think would help you lose weight?
I think if I got a job (never had one, shame on me! but I'm trying to get one now) and had more friends, I'd be on my feet more and socializing more, I would be happy and confident enough to join a gym. I would eventually get enough money to move out of my house (part of why I'm depressed) and into my own place, hopefully with either my current partner (if we ever sort out our million problems which I hope we do!) or a new partner that is supportive of everything I do and understands me. Right now, all I can do is attend my college course (it's a confidence course) and look for a job, and get my backside off my chair, stop playing World of Warcraft and crying over a man, and go for a run on my treadmill that I got for my birthday last year.
To Be Continued!
I will continue answering these questions next time folks. Until then, I will be eating within my 1500 calorie limit and keeping my mind off the junk food.
