Finally on target!!!

hey James! Congrats on your weight loss! It's been great reading thru this thread today and seeing your improvement! People like you are an inspiration!

Fancy sharing some tips? :D

WOW..you are all incredibly inspirational. Watching my age and weight catch up with me during the past few years has been tough and something I really never knew how to work at. This week I have cleared all of the sweets, sodas, and chips out of the house and I have my first cardio meet tomorrow morning. No food no nothing bfore, right? I've also gotten a winsor pilates video a friend os mine swears by and am planning on combining that in about 3-4 days a week. Ques.: how should I be doing cardio every morning?? It's a tight squeeze in the afternoons between 2 jobs, 30+ students, my dog, and my new husband. The mornings sound like a great plan. This looks like the perfect place to help me stick to this for more than a week :D
thanks TEACH

So explain your split cardio ... empty stomach both morning and night? How long are you doing each session for? I do 45 min to an hr 3-5 times a week and i want to loose more fat!!!

you're not alone we have this awesome group here :) You need a work out buddy! Check out craigslist.org they have "activities" at the top (choose your city first) and there are LOTS of people looking for workout buddies ... it HELPS ALOT!!

Hey congrats James :)

So far I've been doing an hour walking a day. So basically i walk at 3miles per hour :D I'm 15, 5"5, and 135 so I don't have much to lose.

Could you give me any muscle tips? I'm currently looking to build muscles

This is inspirational..like stated early in the thread. im the only one out of friends, family and all that stuff doing somethign like that...so coming here and reading this..makes me feel like...im not doing it alone!!!

Man, they never sent me an email letting me know there were replies. It has been a long strange trip. Training 2 to 4 hours a day now, Martial Arts, Weight Training, Running and Yoga. So I had derailed at Christmas time and gained back some lbs... but since January I've been back on track.

So here's the deal you can get good before and afters on August 10th or you can get mind blowing before and afters October 1st. Whatever you guys want you'll get!!! On August 10th I'm going to be 175 lbs on October 1st I'm going to be shedded to pieces!!!

p.s. I'm on MTV starting next month as a vocal coach, I'll let you guys know. Thanks for the support.

p.p.s. 75 minutes in the morning on an empty stomach but you gotta get use to it, don't start that hard you will fry out, go 20 to 30 minutes.

Hey shredded,

It's great that you've really turned your life around and trained you ass off to achieve amazing weight loss.

I recently began training again back in mid April. I'm male, 26 yrs old, 5'8" tall and weighed around 243 pounds (that's about 17 stone 4 pounds to all those folks in the uk, like me :D), with a 40" waist and XXL shirt size. After four months im now down 25 pounds to 217 (15 stone 7 pounds) and dropped to a 36" waist and L shirt size.

Like you I was doing cardio first thing on a morning on an empty stomach. For my first 3 months of training, I went to the gym Monday, Wednesday, Friday for 1hr or so and did 25 mins cardio (normally 10 mins bike, 10 mins elliptical trainer & 5 mins rowing machine) and an all over body workout with weights.

Now I go 5 times a week for 1hr 20 mins or so Monday, Wednesday & Friday and for 1hr Tuesday & Thursday. I do as above on Monday, Wednesday & Friday but with 35-40 mins cardio (normally 25 mins elliptical trainer and 10-15 bike) and on Tuesday & Thursday do 45-50 mins cardio (25mins elliptical trainer and 20-25 mins bike) along with a decent abs workout (I train my abs every day).

My work hours have changed so I'm gonna have more time on a morning to do cardio and am gonna try to push to 1hr of cardio Monday, Wednesday & Friday along with a whole body weights workout and 1hr 20-30 on Tuesday and Thursday with abs I have been. I'm also gonna start spilt cardio, as your have suggested, and aim for 40-60 mins cardio on an evening followed by a swim.

My goal is not to look at what the scales say but to concentrate on what the mirror says :D, so It's all about burning the fat off. I'm more than overwhelmed at the difference the change in my lifestyle has made to me both mentally and physically and from the second I stop training I'm eagerly awaiting my next visit.

There is only one thing i'm really disappointed with....I've only gone and forgot to take before shots havent I :( ARRRGHHHH!!!

Sounds awesome!!! I too sort of didn't take befores, I was so heavy I would not get in front of a camera. So I have shots at 217 lbs not the whopping 230 lbs... but they still look scary! I wieghed in this morning at 185 lbs which is what I wieghed before I fell off the wagon. So, I'm back to ground zero, down 45 lbs. I bet my friend that I would be 175 lbs on August 10th, excactly 4 weeks.

In the morning what kind of cardio do you do :D I'd love to know.

I take a walk with my dog every morning. It's great!

Do you run? And at what speed. Heh I like to ask many questions

I normally do the Elliptical Trainier (sorta like a ski-ing motion) and Bike. Gotta ring my T-shirt out afterwards hehe.

Your story sounds so much like mine. It almost makes me cry. I'm 5'8 also and my weight loss progress is a lot like yours. I was losing about a pound a week. Of course I only drink like two glasses of water a day...not the gallon like you do. I don't know how you guys can do that.

Of course I doubt anyone will see pictures of my body soon. Mostly because I hate taking pictures, but also because I have some condition that makes my chest look bigger than normal.

You keep it up man...I hope you have success in your adventure. I've lost about 60 pounds now coming from weighing 220, just 10 pounds less than you. Doing so gave me so much courage and self-confidence. So much that I told a girl at school that I like her.

I wanna see those pics too...good luck.
