Feeling Awful Before Game

I have been waking up feeling awful, my joints have been aching, i feel drained, and even when i eat something with a lot of energy it never does the trick. I have been trying to get good sleeps, and i get about 9 and a half hours of sleep, but somehow i wake up feeling awfully tired. I have also been trying to go to bed earlier, because i have been falling asleep at 2 and waking up at 11:30ish. I am very active though, and i play soccer so there is a lot of running and quickness needed. So anyways, the last matches i have had i have been drinking energy drinks, and i have been absolutely explosive. I never get tired, everyone is complimenting me on my quick-feet(normally have without feeling and) and my speed. Is it bad to have an energy drink before you play? i was thinking maybe i would get dependant on it. So any tips for natural energy, and loose muscles, please help. Thank you very much:) :) :)

Energy drinks are good if theyre the right ones.

I personally think that things such as Red Bull arent the right way to go, but Lucozade Sport is brilliant.

Having that amount of sleep and still feeling tired points to other problems - such as depression and so forth. You should visit your doctor.

if the energy drink has caffeine in it i would venture to guess that it is the source of the problem:

Less time is spent in REM sleep, when dreaming occurs and which is the most essential part of sleep to humans, so the person will often feel less refreshed in the morning
People feel energized and their mental and manual acuity are often increased (9). Athletes take caffeine to increase stamina and performance (3), and runners will take it to have a faster starting time (16).

thanks, so do you suggest me to stop drinking it?? i drink hansen's energy, it has a lot of natural stuff in it. It does not contain any caffeine.
But having said that, i still don't want to have to depend on energy drinks all the time for great energy.
So caffeine is not an issue.
I just want to get natural energy. Any ideas??

edit: What are some good foods for energy as well?

A banana at half time is usually perfect for when the tiredness kicks in - you should be ok for the first half, if you're not, then you're not fit enough.

the sleep is a better quality the farther you go to sleep before 12 A.M.

So for example, you will feel more tired going to bed a 2 A.M. and waking up at 11 A.M.

than going to sleep at 8 P.M. and waking up at 5 A.M.

So, improve the quality of the sleep is the first thing to do to gain natural energy...

Also, many natural multi vitamins provide supplements that help with energy levels and avoid using brand name energy drinks and focus on the specialty sports energy drinks that you can find at health stores....
