Hello all,
I've been lurking on this forum for a couple of months now. Long story short, back in March I decided to get my life in check when it came to my health. I'm just about 5'7 and at the time I weighed 272 lbs. I'm now down to around 235 lbs. I've been hovering around this weight (give or take a lb or two) for about a month.
I feel like I eat decent. I have cereal every morning for breakfast (Cheerios with Skim Plus milk to be exact). I eat either a Roast Beef or Turkey sandwich, with Light Mayonnaise on Wheat Bread for lunch (sometimes I'll have two eggs on Wheat Bread). For dinner, it's usually either Steak, Pork Chops, Chicken Cutlets, Cheeseburgers, Hot Dogs with Mac and Cheese. When I have Cheeseburgers or Hot Dogs, the rolls are wheat rolls. I do generally have Mashed Potatoes with Steak, Pork Chops, or Chicken Cutlets although the potatoes are very light on salt, no butter, and has Skim Plus milk. I don't really snack in-between and I don't eat after dinner (which is usually between 6 and 7 PM).
I exercise daily. It's the first thing I do when I wake up in the morning. I originally only walked, for about 25, then 30, then 40 minutes per day. I have recently mixed in jogging within the past month or so. My exercise is still the same distance as when I was walking 40 minutes per day, but about half of it is light jogging.
I've been reading a lot of posts about different exercises that people do. It's a little overwhelming for someone like myself (who hasn't ever exercised outside of the aforementioned walking/jogging). I have a Bow Flex and some free weights in my basement. I'm not looking to become Superman (not yet anyway), I just want to continue to lose weight, especially the fat around my stomach.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated. If there's something with my diet that's wrong, a suggestion on that would be appreciated too. Thanks for taking the time to read this!
