Here's how the story goes.. My name is Jaz and I'm 27 years old and I've always been a fat girl. All my life I've been big and I've been okay with that! My confidence has always been through the roof due to my mother & grandmother telling me how beautiful I am! Sure, I've had kids tease me in school and people making rude remarks, but still yet I kept my head high with a smile on my face! (Well, while people were watching at least!) -- But, yes I've always been big.. so I knew people was going to stare and make comments even if it wasnt directly to me.. Sure, I've heard the whole.. "You are so pretty for a big girl, & You have such a beautiful face if you'd just lose some weight." -- I can NOT stand those remarks! Even though people think they are giving you a compliment it sure doesn't feel like one! But, WHO CARES!!! Because, I've always been big, I always made sure I carried myself in a classy way! I never allowed myself to be "Sloppy" -- hell, I've already got eyes on me because I'm bigger, I might as well give them something to talk about other than being fat! They would at least have to say.. That fat girl knows how to dress!!! So I always wore the cutest outfits, accessories always to match with the sexiest shoes to top it off! I made myself into a very classy fat girl! And so much confidence came along with that. I've never had any problem getting a guy that I wanted.. matter of fact.. I'm with the guy of my dreams now and he's my fiance' :) We've been together for over 2 years now and I'm so happy with him. He's what you would say a very athletic guy.. the package! And he accepts me as I am.. But, he knows that recently I've been wanting to lose some weight.. About a year ago I started walking 2 miles every day but, Sundays' and I really didn't see a DIFFERENCE.. I ended up getting frustrated and I just gave it up.. well, about 3 months ago I started changing up my eating habits and I've lost 30ish pounds.. so I finally sat down and thought it all over.. and came to realize if I can lose weight by just eating better imagine how much I can lose by exercising along with it?? I could be where I want to be in NO TIME!!! Well, after all these years of being happy with the way I looked.. I'm ready to change.. I'm ready to get healthier.. I'm ready to lose this weight I don't want anymore!!!!!!!!!! I'm 5'10 and 321 (WOW!) It sounds horrible.. Even though I am well-proportionate, I've never been able to share how much I weigh.. (well, minus my doctor and his nurse) -- But, not even my fiance' knows how much I weigh.. (not that he cares but, still!) -- I am sharing it with yall! Because, the first step of losing this weight is admiting everything! I'm a size 24/26 and by the end of this year I'd like to be at least a size 20 or smaller! Am I asking too much? I hope not! I have to set a goal! I've been thinking about losing weight alot in the past couple weeks and I've finally realized with eating healthier and exercising I can, & WILL get to my goal size! I'm going to say SIZE because, weight? You can get to a weight but, still not be happy with the way you look.. so I'm going to say SIZE Because, I know how I want to look and however much weight it takes to lose to get there.. Thats how much I am losing!!!! I've already remained eating healthier.. this means no sweets, junk, soda, and I'm trying to give up BREAD.. (The sweets, junk & soda is easy because I'm not a big fan of them.. But, the bread? *pout* thats gonna be hard!) -- With doing all that and finally figuring out how I'm going to do the exercising part.. Well, last night I got my Gym membership!!! It's a great place.. 24/7 with a key.. so I can go whenever I please!! And guess what?? My fiance' wanted a membership too so he can be my motivation!!! How lucky am I!! :) I'm sooo excited! Since our schedules are crazy we've made our plans to workout at 9pm... that way we can do it together and I can work my butt off and then come home, shower and hit the hay! I'm so stoked about tonights workout! :) Today, September 14th, 2009 starts a wonderful new life for me!

& Now the diary begins of how my fat day's are numbered!

I love motivation and I need it so much right now!! Even though I am so ready to do this.. I'm sure they are going to be days when I want to give up but, I CANT! And thats when I'll need yall (with the help of my fiance') TO continue to push me to strive for my goal!!!! I'm not sharing my journey with too many of my real-life family & friends just yet.. so ya'll are my new fam & friends! :D Welcome to my journey! And your feedback is so welcomed and your tips & journey as well, will be appreciated!!! Thanks so much for taken your time out and reading my rants!!

Much Love & Respect,
Jaz

I encourage you (if you haven't already) to read through some other stories of people going through the same thing....its so inspirational!

Why do you believe that you did not lose weight or you gained the weight back? I havent really tried.. but, thats changing starting today!!!
What, if anything, has not worked for you in the past in helping you to lose weight? Why do you think it did not work? NOT TRYING is the main thing.. As long as you try and even if you fail.. keep trying and it will help!

Awesome! I hope we can be an inspiration for eachother!! I'm glad you decided to post on here! We will definately keep in touch!! Good luck at the gym tonight! Enjoy every minute of it...even if it sucks! hahaha

Renee brings up a good point. Enjoying excerise is very important. Listening to music or watching t.v is always good, and I've seen people reading on one of the machines that only require movement of the lower body! genius! I know it's silly, but when I was little I played games with a friend were we were slaves to the romans made to do tough physical labour, or martial art experts going through tough training regemes XD occansionally, when I plan to have a really good day, I think to myself "this is some dojo and I'm going through extensive training to reach the hight of human fitness!" silly, I know, but hey its kinda fun :p

I like your term 'phat' girl....fat girl to 'phat' girl...that's awesome.

You can do it! I believe in you..I started my weight loss journey a little over a month ago, and lost 19 lbs myself. Just watch what you eat and exercise...I still eat the bad stuff but I eat it in moderation..you can too just eat it in moderation and don't eat a ton of it...sometimes you have to give in to your sweet tooth but it's OK as long as you do it in moderation.

Since you like bread, why not try eating whole grain bread instead of white? You can get your daily intake of grains as well as having a healthy alternative to white bread...make a deli sandwich out of it with some meat like lean turkey or make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with the whole wheat bread...

Thank you!!! I believe in me too!! Congrats on your weight-loss so far! And your right I could still have me some bread at times just go to whole grain.. I just hope I like the taste of it! Believe it or not I have NEVER ate whole grain bread lol.. It's like drinking regular soda and giving it up for diet soda, doesnt taste good at all! lol But, sometimes we have to do what we have to do!!! I'm not a fan of soda and I gave up sweets/junks a few months back.. even though I may sneak me an ice cream cone in here and there since it's been hot outside lol but, I'm quitting that as well! I'm not going to punish myself but, I am going to do what I have to do to get to where I want to be! :) Thanks for your support!!!! -- And good luck with your weight-loss you are doing great!!

WOOOO! Day 1 is done! :D

I'm now in the process!! WOOO! :) I can't look back now.. I'm soooo ready to shed these pounds!! I took my start picture tonight.. hopefully in a few months I'll see a difference! :) -- Like they say.. Go hard or go home! I'm going HARD!!! :)

Jaz

I looked at my food journal this evening (I find it keeps me accountable to to this...you might want to give it a try for a few days to see if it might work for you too), and i realized I just finished day 7! Time flies when your having fun!! lol

Be so proud of yourself!!!!!!!!!!!
Take care and get ready for day 2!! lol

Well done with what you've achieved so far... and starting the exercise is awesome. Getting fitter is the best feeling. I was doing a step class today that I puffed through a few months ago, and today it was really fun. I enjoy getting sweaty now!

Thank you!! You are right! I am feeling it in my lower body! WOO WEE! HAHA But, that tells me its working!! :)

I remember when I first started...I started running and doing strength training on my Wii on a game called Wii Fit. I was Soooooo sore, seriously. I would run but my shins would kill me, now I can run but my shins don't hurt but my whole leg still aches...its weird.

I'm not near as sore as when I started though

I know!! I have a Wii as well (But, I do the whole DDR game) -- I use to get on it and go to town on the fitness games.. I need to buy Wii Fit!!! I've been trying to wait to see if they are going to come out with a different version because they have been talking about it.. But, I was on the Wii pretty much everyday and then walking 2 miles as well.. But, It just didnt seem like it wasn't helping alot... I think its because my eating habits was still there!! But, now that I got my eating habits taken care of and I am eating real healthy and cut out all the snacks.. I see a change with my weight number even without exercise.. so I know with my good eating & good exercising.. I'm going to see a great change!!! My birthday is next month (Oct. 8th) So I hope to give myself a nice reward! A new pair of shoes... or a new coach purse lol.. -- But, yeah I know its gonna be achey for a while... AND I'm okay with it!! :) Thanks for responding!

Day 2 girly!! Get your a** to the gym!! hahaha Hope today was as good as yesterday was!

Hey girl!!!!! I just got home about 15 minutes ago! About to hit the shower lol.. I did great today I think! 5 miles! 2 on the treadmill and 3 on the bike! Then I did 50+ arm lifts that my fiance' taught me to do.. boy did they put some pain on me!! LOL I feel tonights workout way more than last nights!!! I'm so pumped!! Day 2 down and looking forward to Day 3!!! :) -- I tried looking for a diary for you.. have you made one yet??

Day 2!

So does it get easier? YES!!!!!!! Well, so far! I know I'm going to run into a hard day.. and you know what? I'm ready for it!!! Tonights workout was great! I loved every 60 minutes of it!! I did 2 (almost 3) miles on the treadmill and 3 miles on the bike.. and I did 50 arm lifts.. well, I did more than that.. but, my fiance' showed me a great way to work my arms out and I started counting over on the hard ones.. I felt them bad boys!! I got a serious sweat on and it felt great!! I can't wait to weigh myself next week and just see if anything has changed! I'm going to stay away from the scale for now.. I'm just focusing on my workout & good eating habits! :D -- Go me!! WOO!

I stopped by Subway on my way home today and got me a 6" oven roasted chicken sub with lettuce, tomato, and cheese on 9 grain wheat bread and I drank some serious water today.. So far so good right?

Well, I stopped by my moms to visit for a bit and she insisted I have a slice of the new pizza hut's cheese crust pizza.. I know I should have said no.. But, I told myself if I ate it.. that would be IT for today.. so I did and I am making it my last slice of pizza while I'm on my workout plan.. no if, ands, or BUTS!! *sighs* -- I'm still bothered because I ate that frickin' slice! But, hey now that I know the wrong I feel from it.. I won't do it later on into my journey! At least some good came out of it!! And I think thats why I strived a little harder tonight working out! Not so much punishing myself but, striving for success and not giving-in!!!!

But, heres to Day 2 over with!!! WOOO! :)

Cmon Day 3!!!

Tons of Love & Respect,
Jaz

By the WAY!!!
