Hey everyone!
I'm a 21 year old male who is trying to lose some weight for a wedding on the 28th July. So far, I have been on my reigime for 9 days and every day have been going on the exercise bike (and sometimes doing a fitness dvd).
My question is about the use of the exercise bike. I have done sessions lasting from 15 to 35 mins. When going for over 20 mins, I have cycled at at a steady speed which leaves me sweating a little but its easy to recover from.
I've just done a 15 min session where I cycled quite fast and became sweaty and out of breath quite quickly. The workout was a lot more intense. I'm just wondering which is better...
Is it better to burn a higher total of calories, at a steady speed, over a longer period of time?
Or
Is it better to have a short burst on the bike whereby I am getting my heart rate up and still burning a significant ammount of calories over a short period of time?
Many thanks
