Excrutiating pain in lower shin when walking...

I've had shin splints before and that pain was kind of mid shin and a bit closer to my knee. This pain is right where my foot connects to my leg in the front. I do my stretches (about 5 mins) then start out at a slower pace, about 2 miles per hour for a couple of minutes, speed up to 2.5 mph for another few minutes, and at the 5 minute time I go to up 3.5 mph. About 10 minutes in I get excrutiating pain. I've tried to push through it, tried to slow down, tried to speed up, and the pain won't stop. I've tried going at a slowe pace (3.0 mph) at a higher incline, but the pain is still there.

I've still been using my home gym and I do find with all the leg exercises. I can do lunges, squats perfectly fine it's just the cardio that hurts.

Can I say screw the cardio and stick to a healthy diet and weights? The majority of websites that I read stress cardio cardio cardio...so I'm a bit scared.

I've had that with my wrist before and once with my ankle for an unrelated issue. At the time, my primary doc was also an osteopath. He did a few manipulations and popped my wrist and the other time my ankle, noticing my range of motion was off and the various bones might be out of alignment. Instant relief and didn't get the pain again for a long long time until after I came down on it wrong and racked it.

It might not be it, but it might be a start to find out what its not, at the least ;)

I have a friend who is a chiropractor so maybe I'll badger her when I see her later. hehe.

My hubby thinks I might be tying my shoes too tight? He says he always got a similar pain when he laced his hockey skates too tight. I don't know though because if I don't tie them up that tight, I get blisters on my heels.
